The Chronos of Moebius had a far harsher fate compared to his counterpart. Upon creating time, all seemed fine at first, but the lion became afflicted with harsh visions, which only grew each passing day. While his body remained whole, the past, present, and future shifted constantly before his eyes, like a demonic kaleidoscope. Seeing 500 years into the past and future--1000 years all at once, drove him into a state of madness and fear, resulting in him going into hiding in the darkest, most labyrinthian forest known to the citizens of Moebius. Word of a 'monster' would soon be spread, causing the forest to be largely uninhabited. That would all change due to events happening 200 years after the present area, when Anti-Chronos' mental instability started causing distortions in time itself. With the help of his family, Palladium would journey to the past and come across him, who attacked the future hedgehog out of instinct. Palladium, who had been sent to kill 'the beast of time', reacted in kind, slicing Anti-Chronos' eyes with his powerful knife. Yet before he could give the killing blow, the lion stopped attacking, speaking for the first time in eons in stunned relief. The cut to his eyes rendered him blind, severing his curse of visions, and restored his sanity. From there, Palladium would come to realize who the creature truly was, taking pity on his state and offering to help him navigate the modern world. Anti-Chronos took on the name Xorel, an anagram of a watch brand, in reference to being a bit messed up. Xorel's fashion sense was chosen by Palladium, down to his bare feet. He doesn't often wear the dark glasses unless he needs to make a point he in fact cannot see. Compared to Chronos, Xorel is more defensive, often not addressing those he doesn't concern himself with. He lacks the grandfatherly nature of his Mobian counterpart, but is by no means evil. He simply wants to stick by Palladium, curious about how things truly are, learning about the world through touch, scent, sound, and taste. Xorel also has no time to worry about societal rules, knowing how quickly it changes. As a bit of a bonding moment between them, Palladium likes to give Xorel manicures and pedicures. His big toenails are painted black, but they leave the rest alone. He also shows a lack of patience, and will not hesitate to groom Palladium with his tongue if they cannot find water. It is not uncommon to see the huge lion on his knees and licking his boyfriend's soles, much to Palladium's embarrassment. Xorel can still 'look' at things, thanks to his keen hearing being able to pinpoint a person or animal's location, which causes some to not believe he is blind unless they get a good look at his eyes, which are very pale. |
