So, I've been playing Fallout 3... let me tell you about my lone wanderer haha
She is younger than canon, only 16 or so. I changed things to happen not long after she takes the GOAT exam. She specializes in explosives, melee weapons and speech.
She goes by a nickname, "Cherry Bomb" since she's embarrassed by her given name, thinks it makes her sound like someone's great aunt. I was undecided at first, thought I was gonna name her Lucinda, after a friend's mom, but I didn't want people to think she was Mac's future baby mama, cuz, she ain't. Named her instead after Saint Gertrude (patron saint of Cats and people who love them) since she was "born" in March and St. Gertrude's feast is shared with Saint Patrick's. Pushing her birthday out past the 20th though, she's an Aries not a Pisces. >.>
I wanted to play up the tragedy of her being so young and having to deal with this shit, but really not dealing with it properly. She ends up relying on her imagination and pretending she is somewhere else, doing these things with cartoon character friends, that the stakes aren't so high, and it's just a story where good will triumph just because that's how stories are.
She ends up getting a little crush on Mayor MacCready. I remember as a kid I would form crushes on people and attachments just as a way to avoid feeling bad about things going on in my life. I think she is doing the same, but, pickin's be slim for that in the wasteland. Plus, it has to be someone impossible, otherwise you might have to deal with all new problems.
Anyway, "weird girl" personified. Released out into the wasteland when she should be going through her Werewolf Phase™️.
