Valentine's Gift Art: Jonah&Caedyn

Continuing the tradition for a third year in a row, I've created yet another Valentine's Gift Art for someone whom I like, in this case, because of the cute and shy fursona, but also because I think they are a kind-hearted person.
Per usual I sent this to [iconname]SenZontova[/iconname] first before posting it here. They were recovering from a cold, and I imagine in low spirits, but they said that this gift cheered them up. Also a first, they said that Caedyn, being somewhat into boys and other rodents in general, said "yes" to Jonah's request.
Now I just want to clear up some in-universe issues. The reason I chose Jonah, instead of Kyaw, as the pursuer, unlike the last two years is two fold (1) Jonah is the closest thing I have at this point to a true "fursona". Basically I feel very psychologically linked to this character as they were so heavily inspired by myself. By choosing Jonah instead of Kyaw, it felt like a more personal gesture to try and get closer to Caedyn/SenZ, Caedyn also being their fursona, and (2) Jonah is a chipmunk and Caedyn is a squirrel and I thought it be really cute to see them together. Most of my pairs are cross-species, and while technically chipmunks and squirrels are different species, they are extremely close. Chipmunks are basically small squirrels with stripes.
Anyway, we had a nice long friendly chat afterwards, so I'd say it was a success.
Although I finished this on Valentine's Day and DMed it to SenZ on time, they didn't respond til the next day, but that was due to the fact that they weren't feeling well. In any case, the anticipation was sweet in it's own right.
So is this Jonah? And does this mean that Jonah canonically asked Caedyn to be his Valentine's?
Ans: No, this isn't part of The Official BTBF timeline. Firstly I want to point out two ways this is kind of Out Of Character. Firstly, Jonah is madly in love with Jonathan, he's his first and greatest love, and that is never going to change. Secondly, Jonah is canonically heterogenit. That means he's attracted to species other than his own. It's unlikely for him to be interested in chipmunks or squirrels given his curiosities. Jonah here is acting more as an "Author Surogate", that is, a "fursona". So it's not necessarily the same Jonah as depicted in the BTBF storyline, it's more of a stand in for me.
If you want to think of it as an alternative storyline just for this piece however, you could imagine that after some time Jonah decides to try his best to move on from Jonathan, even though Jonathan will always be his greatest love and he is still quietly heartbroken. He tries to flirt with another boy to try his luck, and chooses the shy Caedyn Squirrel from school, asking him to be his valentine's.
How Kyaw possibly works into this I have no idea. He's apparently a real cupid, no strings attached. The idea here was that Kyaw was conspiring along with Jonah to win Caedyn's heart, hence why the arrow is pointed at Caedyn's heart.
This is actually the first official piece of art to feature both Kyaw and Jonah simultaneously as it so happens.
Who will be next year's "recipient"?
I have no idea. We'll just have to wait and see.
