I had an idea after reading the Scrapnik Island miniseries. There was a hallucination sequence where Eggman appears with Knuckles' spike gloves.
That's when I had the idea to empower Dr. Eggman with the red quill. And turned him into an echidna.
Like his Dr. Egghog form, his clothes remain the same and he keeps his mustache. This time, spike gloves appear on his hands and red and yellow shoes appear on his feet. And he has black sclera and green irises for a Metal Knuckles influence.
This transformation would probably be called Dr. Egghidna.
