Vergo: And here we are again~

Dantalion: Indeed…again. I have to wonder why you insisted on doing this holiday here instead of in Aderon.

Vergo looked over the much smaller fox before ruffling the top of his head in a playful manner, leaving Dantalion to be a bit annoyed at the somewhat condescending nature of the gesture.

Vergo: Because we always do so in Aderon, hun. Just thought it would be nice to celebrate here. And you and I both know that however they do it there would be…quite bastardized. Adding in some form of sexual content that wasn’t originally intended.

Dantalion, lacking much room to stand on the subject, acknowledged that to be the case. It was true that there were likely parts of it that might not be entirely accurate to how Pokemon of Aderon perceived the human made holiday. As he was about to respond to it, the sight of a strand of glowing bulbs, much smaller than he had known to exist, appeared everywhere around the house that Vergo and the others used.

Dantalion: What…? What are these?

He made his way over to one, careful not to touch it as the thoughts of the tiny little balls of fire that he remembered being used by Yama and Fleurety. Those were much bigger and rounder than these were, but the big ones were dreadfully hot, and something that was baffling to any and all pokemon in Aderon. Save Fleurety anyway. Not only that, but they were colored in a variety of different ways, with greens, reds, whites and other such things. The sight of them was mesmerizing for him, as he looked them down with the focus of a child.

However, as he looked at them cautiously, the pokemon eying them like a wild fox would prey, the dragon behind him laughed at the sight, seeing the fox pokemon’s tail move from side to side in intense focus. With the elegance and accuracy rivaling that of Uziah himself, the dragon quietly made his way up to the fox before grabbing his puffed up backside with a firm grip before moving another hand to his shoulder.

The sudden reaction naturally caused Dantalion to slip forward in surprise, only to land in Vergo’s arm, seeing the dragon laugh at how easy it was to surprise him despite his abilities.

Vergo: Oh? No future sight there?~

Dantalion himself looked down in embarrassment, the animalistic side of himself having taken over unintentionally as he became transfixed on the bulbs. Before being able to comment anything else however, Vergo began holding one of the light strands with his bare claws, before looking over towards Dantalion and gracefully pulling the fire fox pokemon over to him in a hold, resting his arm around Dantalions’ back and his hand upon his rear.

Vergo: Christmas lights. These ones are colored. They get a bit hot as well, but not nearly as hot as the lights you are used to. They are fully intended to be lit up and hung up in places. So touching them is perfectly fine.

With that, he grabbed one of the strands and held it towards the fox pokemon, letting Dantalion see it up close. The delphox ran a paw overtop of it, still marveling at how the tiny, odd shaped balls even lit up in the first place.

Vergo: These ones are just colored here. Curious of the others?

This managed to hook dantalion, who now wondered about what other things they had here would be different than what he was used to. With a nod, the delphox put the lights back before leaning into Vergo’s arms, as the two made their way out towards the living area.

Dantalion: So…no one is here then?

With a small sigh, but one coupled with a toothy grin, Vergo began listing off each of the other members one by one.

Vergo: Ryoko is with her family, Yama got invited to something called a rising dragon festival in Edarel, and subsequently took Uziah and Petra along to see it. Quetzally is with Lars as they do their own thing for the holiday away from here, and lastly Weiss is celebrating it in Aderon, as he prefers their way of celebrating the holidays, unsurprisingly. Which means…

Vergo trailed off at this moment, leaving the much smaller fox to look up at him and gently stroke his chest with a soft paw overtop it.

Dantalion: Leaving you alone then~?

Vergo: Alone?~ Well. You are here with me so no. Not “Alone.”~

With that, he picked up dantalion and began to carry him out, still with a hand over Dantalion’s rear. The action left Dantalion laughing at it before cuddling up to him, as they made their way to the exit, only to have Vergo suddenly stop.

Vergo: Ah, but before we go out…perhaps you should wear something else.

With that, Dantalion looked at him, in a way that seemed like he was deeply offended by the notion of having to actually put on clothes.

Dantalion: You can’t be serious? Vergo, love…I’m a FIRE type. I also live in a blizzard. You’re a dragon that fights with ice constantly. I highly doubt some cold weather will affect either of us.

Vergo: Well that isn’t the reason. The reason is because like…well…given the time of year…it would be nice to get dressed up for the occasion. Right?

The exchange between the two hit a shared pause, with each one reading the other as much as possible. Indeed, there was no doubting that while Vergo might have been wanting to simply get dressed up for it, the fact he was only directing at Dantalion and not himself clearly meant one thing. He wanted to see the femboy fox get dolled up into something. It was a pretty obvious ploy, but not one that Dantalion really disagreed with, however he wasn’t content to settle on that easily.

Dantalion: Fine, but on one condition. You need to do so as well.

Vergo: Was the plan.~

Dantalion:. Oh? Very well then. But I’ll need to head back to Aderon for a bit to grab something. Since it’s a special occasion and all.

With a sly smile, Vergo left to prepare, knowing that at least this much was worth it. So, dropping their stuff, the pair headed back, with Dantalion making a quick trip back to Aderon to grab something apparently. Thankfully the trip only took a few minutes at most.

After a few moments, Vergo made his way out of his room having done a bit of work on his scales and fur along the back, all before putting on a blue colored wrap to have over his shoulders. Dantalion however, refusing to let him see what he had brought back with him, took hours to finish. Whatever he was doing, it was long and clearly meticulous.

Vergo: Haah… He really is taking his time. I swear he was a she in another lifetime with this amount of prep work. It is a good thing we don’t need to be anywhere soon.

Eventually, after another ten minutes or so, Dantalion finally walked out. As Vergo stood to see him, the sight of a beautiful female delphox in a red and black robe with an orange wrap and fur collar with a matching hat made their way out with an elegant step.

Dantalion: Well? How do I look? S-sorry for taking so long. But I bought this sometime ago on my own here, but…never had a moment to wear it and I did not want it to get messed up in Aderon. I hope that it looks ok…

Vergo smiled before pulling Dantalion forward, holding his paw as he wrapped an arm back around the fox pokemon’s waist.

Vergo: You make a very beautiful girl. That looks lovely on you~

The tone and comment were clearly done in a teasing fashion, but not one that Dantalion truly disliked much. The more he grew attached to Vergo, the more he opened up to his more effeminate side, something the fire pokemon was not only fine with, but entirely open to.

Dantalion: Am I to be your female partner this outing then~?

Only moments out of his mouth, Vergo gave Dantalion a small kiss before correcting him immediately.

Vergo: Date. This is entirely that. Now…are we ready to go?

Dantalion: Perhaps…but is that really all you are going to put on? I mean…I know minimalism is a style, but…ah well…it looks really nice on you.

Vergo: I don’t spend as much time getting myself too look as feminine as possible, my dear~

Dantalion smiled as he looked up at him, making and acting the part even more, now talking in a higher pitch and moving with more overt flare than before.

Dantalion: So you mean you’d much rather me like this then~?

The two laughed for a moment before Vergo once again held the delphox close, and with a small whisper up close to his ear, spoke in a soft, if dominant voice to the fox that he was with.

Vergo: I prefer you however you like to be. Male or female.

Dantalion blushed a bit from the comment, only pulling away as they hid their face from view. Without giving much answer to the quandary for now though, they simply accepted being referred to as male for the time being. As he admitted to it, he quickly asked if now would be a good time to finally head out.

With a nod from the dragon, the two walked out, hand in hand, as many greeted the pair as they walked out across the busy streets. Lights illuminated the buildings and roads, with wreaths and trees all throughout the snowy town.

For Vergo, this was nothing he had not seen before. As nice as the displays were, they were expected each year, but whatever new ones they came up with were always a treat to spy. For the fox “girl” he brought along however, it was Dantalion’s first time ever seeing such a wonderland of cheer. The light shows, the singing, Santa outfits and tree ornaments. All of it was new to him, and he darted around like an excited kid or puppy outside for the first time.

It was a long and tiring date, but not one that either of them disliked. To see Dantalion nearly drop all of his supposed superiority over others to marvel at things most simply saw as normal and mundane was a sight to behold. Laughing at the sight of the fox, many a passerby told Vergo himself how cute his girlfriend was. He quickly corrected them however, citing that she was a very close friend, but never that the fox they saw as female was in fact male.

Eventually, as the sun began to set and the temperature slowly dropped, the streets died down as did Dantalion’s energy. With a cup of hot cocoa in hand, the two made their way to the outskirts of town, where a beautiful lake spread out across the expanse.

Shining in the distance was the last vestige of sun before dusk, with snowflakes falling from the sky, and the rays of light reflecting off them each with a unique shine.

Dantalion: This was beautiful…do all worlds celebrate it like this?

Vergo: No, not all. Though most seem to do so, leading me to wonder how much this “Santa” gets around.

Dantalion: I see…

With that, the pair stayed quiet for a bit, drinking the warm chocolate down as they looked out over the lake. As they did, a silent, but smooth thank you escaped the foxes lips, leaving Vergo to turn and look at him with a gaze and eyes that none could mistake.

Putting the drinks down on a nearby bench, with one more pull, Very wrapped his arms around the delphox, with Dantalion looking back up at him with the same gaze. Leaning in to rub his hands over his scaled chest, Vergo moved his arm up and around, embracing Dantalion as he held him in close.

Vergo: I…

This moment was it, as sweet as could be. Dantalion’s heart began racing as he spoke. He looked up to him with affection in his gaze, readying himself to return the comment he had waited to hear for a long time over.

Vergo: …really do enjoy getting to spend this time with you. And anytime after.

With that, his heart dropped a bit, but quickly perked back up. With a slight sigh, he returned his gaze from before, looking up at the dragon with a loving gaze, unchanging despite the comment made.

Dantalion: …I enjoy it as well. Thank you, love, for showing me all of this. I’d…very much like to come with you again…next time.

With a small kiss upon the lips, Vergo nodded in affirmation to the request, being all too happy to do that and more. For now however, the sun was beginning to set, and the afterparty fun was soon to begin…

Holidays at the guild
Valentine's wolf
+2
A wonderful commission from lovespell featuring Dantalion and Vergo the dragon belonging to darkfox49
So much of Danta, and he was a smaller character as a whole haha~ But never know who others enjoy after all.
Regardless, a really beautiful art piece I couldn't wait to upload for everyone to see...though definitely was uploaded before intended originally, so for many might not be new~

Still, I really hope others like it, I really, really love this so much, so I want to mention lovespell again for doing such a phenomenal job with this!

But...rambling on at this point, I hope everyone enjoys it, and had a good holiday~
Vergo the dragon belongs to darkfox49
Dantalion the delphox belongs to me

Ah, let's not have that happen. Glad to know you enjoy the pair though~
