Due to a mysterious link between Spike and Twilight, the Main 6 can access certain powers of the Elements of Harmony as long as they are with Spike and only for a limited time.

While amplified, Fluttershy and Spike are surrounded by a calming aura that can soothe nearly anyone. They can sense the motives of other beings and can persuade them to take a different course of action if need be. Fluttershy also becomes bolder in this state and will often do or say things that normal Fluttershy will not. Fluttershy's Stare ability is increased to new heights, and is constantly active. The Element of Kindness has given her a special mask that can restrict this until Fluttershy needs to use The Stare at its full potential. Princess Celestia was at the receiving end of this amplified Stare once. She likens it to being in the presence of absolute authority. She wouldn't even move an inch unless Fluttershy said so.

With Spike, he is given the Sword of Mercy. This sword is constantly sheathed. It cannot be used to kill a creature, nor can it be used to cause unwarranted pain to a creature. The blade can only be unsheathed as a last resort. Should all attempts at stemming violence fail and should all attempts to save a creature's life have failed too, Spike will be allowed to unsheath the sword to kill his target swiftly. The blade makes Spike focus all his concentration and energy on delivering a fast decapitating blow. The Sword of Mercy unsheathed leaves a trail of pink butterflies as it cuts down Spike's foe. Rumour has it that these butterflies softly carry the soul of the slain to the afterlife.
