While I was packing for a move to a new house, I found that I had a lot of downtime and felt the need to do something. When I went to the store, I picked up a sketchbook and a couple of mechanical pencils from the Back-to-School aisle, and this was the first thing I decided to draw.
At first, I didn't know what to draw, but I wanted to draw something. So, of course, I drew a paw! I used the Android app "Calca App" to project my drawing of caracal pawpads that I drew a little while ago onto the page — not with (A)ugmented (R)eality like the "SketchAR" app, but just a light image overlay on my phone's camera so I can see where I'm drawing with it over the page — and from there, I began experimenting with Ulrich's paw.
Not to prattle on too long, but I made each pad bigger. Yes, this is now going to be the official design of Ulrich's paws. These are his hindpaws; I'm going to work on his forepaws later. This is also just for now. We're still slowly settling into our new house, so, once I find my iPad, I am going to make a digital version of this for better reference.
This piece was drawn on sketchbook paper using 0.5mm mechanical pencils. Post-processing was done in a mixture of Picsart and Photoshop Express for Android.
