The Adaptor did an excellent job. And it makes it pretty obvious that certain traits from the couple were passed down the lines all the way to current times, meaning the actress in that movie probably did have a distant ancestress in Barbara. Hmmm.... although, looking at that summoned "demon" there's a good bit of correlation in the physiology there as well.

I didn't realize Barbara was THAT wealthy! They didn't just add a bunch of essential services, but a town wall and paved roads too.
I wonder what industry they established? It seems like they'd be able to use that to recoup their investment, while the other services are kinda for 'everybody' and cement their role as the philanthropist mayoress family. All in a few years, they must have attracted other investors, merchants and craftspeople to town as well.
There is one little thing that caught my eye though. The cart at the gate is being pulled by a very brightly furred creature. We don't see a lot of animals in your series that aren't people, but it makes sense that if the people are bright-furred animal-inspired folks, why would the animals not also be bright furred?
Also, just what IS that? At first glance I thought it was a Donkey, but on further inspection, it seems to be on two legs. I like it, anyways!
