Back in 2005 or 2006 I got the idea that I wanted to make an RPG built on the theme of Internet memes, internet culture, etc. and its heroes would basically be simplified versions of stereotypes I fit into somewhat.
So the core would be the duo of Otaku Wapanese and the man in this image, Sirius Furry. Sirius's personality is mostly one of timidity and patience. He operates on the belief that his soulmate is using the Internet somewhere, so he's going to obsessively search the Internet far and wide until he finds her.
Otaku would be a basic direct damage based hero while Sirius would be a generalist mage; kinda physically weak (due to his timidity, as "physical attacks" would be an abstract form of argumentative skills, HP as mental fortitude to not ragequit, and magic damage being a combination of artistic skill, creativity, and insanity to make your point using non-verbal/textual communication). Slowly, power creep would set in and characters with much more boisterous personalities would show up and overshadow Sirius - an internet pirate, a 13 year old boy who thought there was nothing funnier in the world than trying to imitate Housemaster from Arfenhouse, a whiny emo whose damage calculations are based on his missing HP, and a Gen Xer programmer and retrogamer obsessed with textmode stuff like Rogue and ZZT.
Then when it seems Sirius's skills aren't scaling in line with the team as well as Otaku's and he doesn't have a lot of dialog. The party comes across a boss encounter they can't get past with the usual methods of force - her avatar being an anthropomorphic red fox. Her name is Dody Bixen (a play on "dirty vixen"; Dody is actually a nickname for Dorothy) and at some point in the dialog of the scene, her IRL location accidentally gets leaked. Sirius gasps and exclaims "That's the same apartment building *I* live in! Literally across the hallway!" and disappears from the game. The vixen disappears shortly afterward.
After some length of in-game time, Sirius returns to the party with a vastly expanded spell list and more powerful stats. He and Dody had actually GOTTEN MARRIED in the time since the scene of them departing, and Sirius then asks if any of the other guys had even logged off the computer once in the past couple weeks, leading to some awkward silence.
