For the month of June, I'm doing a series I call Bride Month, where each day I upload a drawing of one of my married female OCs (usually with her husband).
Wolf and Zera are characters I made up in my teens. I had no interest in relationships or affection back then, so them becoming a couple was more or less just me feeling an urge to do some trope conformism; he was the well-rounded jack of all trades leader and she was the team's healer.
Over the years, I developed their personalities a bit and wound up in a remake of the chapter of them meeting. His personality is calm, casual, and friendly while hers is snide, sarcastic, and temperamental. If anything, people would expect from their personalities for him to be a master of ice and her a master of fire rather than the inverse, though when I wrote that out about a week ago it really made a lot of sense.
Her sister was kidnapped by an evil cultist, and he was the only hero hard up enough for money to answer the bounty request for the job. She insisted on accompanying the hero, and the two found they worked very well together, and Zera very much enjoyed leaving the capitol city of Peridot.
They decided to continue together as a team on his further adventures, but her father King Rex insisted it would be unseemly for his teenaged daughter to be traveling around great distances with a teenaged boy unchaperoned unless they were married. Thus, the two entered into a marriage out of obligation rather than having any romantic passions.
They fight like cats and dogs sometimes, but they still love each other. And more importantly, they made a solemn vow of fidelity, so no matter how mad they get at each other neither would ever break it.
