GENE: "This is the beach, so ...Chippy drew us a shell"
MIMI: "So he did!"
Yeah, I sometimes draw the characters on the beach, and I usually give them a shell, a starfish or both.
I don't think much about it, neither do I expect my watchers do. That said, some of my watchers notice things in my art that sometimes evade my notice, such as subliminal things that my subconscious added to the arrangement, inclusions or my word choices.
Anyway, Gene found a shell. The shell contained some sort of clam before it was emptied out by something from the sea.
There are trillions of individual creatures in the sea, most of them always hungry: the sea is merciless, unforgiving, and isn't opposed to use the surface as its garbage can (...perhaps not wrongly).
Shell.
