It's sad, sometimes this happens, people will out of nowhere come out, sometimes prematurely and unjustly, and then don't accept you not immediately addressing them right and calling them the appropriate gendered words.
Luckily in general this doesn't happen.
I've one acquainted who's messed this up that bad. He was also influenced by toxic people who out of their respective insecurity drove him to think his crossdressing was a sign he was trans. He convinced two shrinks he believed he was a girl etc. Got gender reassignment surgery and half a year later told everyone he made a mistake. He'd never truly felt it but put it on because his influencers told him he'd feel better about it after the surgery.
He'd alienated all of us because we told him (including trans friends) that we thought he wasn't trans as he never felt ashamed or had been disphoric about himself and even proud and playful with his genitals in gendered clothes. And now only few are comfy with getting reacquainted.
Tldr: Friend got Tini'd bad and made the mistake of trusting strangers over his friends and family. Now has no friends and half his family.

A full transition takes a good amount of time and is constantly monitored, at times it sucks ass but the healthcare profesionals job for a part is pushing back against their patient to make sure they are making the right choice. Then they have to worry about patients sueing them if they don't get their way. Which happens. The story so far is being good, the artist has been able to reconcile complex issues and themes as they would be portrayed in a pokemon society. I've read the previous stories, all of them are very good, but I think the fact that I'm not a big fan of "sad endings" made me not like how the stories ended, but I totally understand and it's not a criticism. This story makes me sad and a little uncomfortable, but I'm trying hard to read to the end and not make unnecessary pre-judgments before a definitive ending. I have to admit that the pokemon comics I have read so far are very different from what I am used to reading, which makes the artist who wrote them different from most in the way they create their stories and narratives.
