A year or two ago, I was asked to draw from Fine Arts Films's 'Stanley the Ugly Duckling' (StUD)
...and I did, as part of a sketch dumpling. ^^
The above-mentioned dumpling no longer exists---at least not on my end. A week or so ago, i deleted over a hundred entries from my galleries (collectively)---mostly from scraps. ^^
So, I suppose I'll be redrawing some characters from those deleted uploads, just so they still have a reference.
Anyway, based on the title (and the featured pencil), one may think *StUD is another 'ugly-duckling' story, in which the main character is a baby swan. But Stanley, insofar as I can tell, is actually a duck in this story.
*I do find the incongruity of this abbreviation amusing, given Stanley's supposed unattractiveness. ^^
I may've missed something, but, again, I don't think Stanley is a swan. On that note, the featured pencil (Belknap's White Swan') isn't referring to swans, either.
Belknap (or 'Fort Belknap') is a Montana-based, Native American community, and 'White Swan' (likely) refers to a particular Native-American (Crow leader) of that name (1850-1904).
This pencil is ...old. It's also very, very slim (it's just slightly thicker than a Pocky candy stick). I've no way of estimating its vintage, nor of ascertaining its maker.
