OTHAFA Page 32: Collateral Dammage.

It was a lot to take in… For everyone, really. It had been discussed before but always the finality of their situation was put off. Rather not talked about. But here it was, the truth had out. Everyone now knew that Cubbi was perfectly aware of, not only his, but his species mortality. He HAD done some growing up since he’d been here. It was obvious now.

The small family group was stunned into silence. Even Gruffi couldn't find the right words.

Writer’s Note: So the saying goes; “It’s easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission”............ though I don't know if that's ever been true.

Love this story. I saw it some time ago, and I'm glad your reposting it. This moment between Cubbi and Gruffi is my favorite scene. gets ya right in the feels.
