Ari has got to be one of my most complex characters, design wise, of all my leading ladies. Being a tortoise/crocodile hybrid with a few additional features (because she's a manually spliced creation of her father), there was bound to be a lot of confusion on how to draw her. I do ultimately need to get an ultimate reference of her that truly shows off her 'correct' design, but it is always nice to see other visions of her. In terms of shell, this sketch Greyshores did probably gets her 'pudgy' quality right, but the 'breast plates' aren't really a thing for Ari. She is female, but doesn't have as many - what some would call - feminine features. Her tail is pretty dang thick here, but still nicely portrayed as a crocodile tail. What I'm most impressed with, however, is the design of the metal eye plate and her metal calf plate on her leg. Those are truly what I envisioned her cybernetic components to look like. Still, one of these days, she'll have a bonafide ref sheet, but this is still another lovely vision, if only in partial sketch, of my lovely, but dangerous Ari.
