Map 1: The Neon City

Map 2: Comparisson to Manhattan

Map 3: Districts

What you see on this map is only the coastal area of The Neon City, and the map only details the biggest roads. This is not Aion.
====================================================================

Back in the 2010's and 2020's, when someone said "Cyber" or "Futuristic" city, only one thing ever came to mind to everyone, for some reason. An overcrowded, dirty, rusted megapolis full of poverty and people with silver arms shooting each other. People would immediatly assume: Beggars asking for change while suited corpos lit up cigarettes!  A huge metallic urban-industrial canopy! Corrupt mega-corporations led by rich people stealing from the average!

Thankfully, world leaders had a better vision, and a bit more originality.

With h̶̵̡̨̯̦͎̩̼͖̭̾̾̉y̵͇̟̻͚͓̻̻͉͎̼̮͔̣̱͔̹͔͚͛̒ͩͭ̈́̅̀ͣͭͫ͟͜͞͝ͅp̷̽ͭ̿̂ͯ̉̏̓̎̀̇͌̅ͩ̍̀̃̑̚҉̞̤͈̲͈̘̱̫̪̫͓̺̳́e͗ͫ̑͂̑̚҉̵̛͙͉̖̼̩̘̘̝́ͅrͥͣ̐̊ͤͣ҉̶̭̹̪͇͖̦̗̰͎̜ͅi̴̸̧̬̻̪̿̄̑̑ͤͯͦ̿̄͊̿͋ͥ͌̓́̑͢͝ͅo̵ͨͨ̃̃ͩ̄͌͗͌̿͊̃̌ͮͨͮ͑͂́̚҉͚̣̥̙̰͔̜̺ͅn̡̑͒ͯ̿ͣ̈́̚҉̸̖͉̥̳̠̱̱͈̯̗͈̟͖͓͖͝ at the very core, since the inception of time itself, the intelligent beings of this world were always united. A single, centralized and unified system from the very start. this structure endured for centuries, and who ever dared defy it was immediatly ḑ͟͏ì̴̷s̵p̷̡̛͏̢o̕͘͟͞҉ş̶̡̛̕e͘̕͜͜͠ḑ̀͘ of. Some lives h̨áv̛e no̵ v̴alue͞,͏̸ ͡͝a̧͜n̨͘d̀͜͝ ͘͠n̸o̴̵̡̢͝ ͏͘͘͏ó̧͟͝͝n̷̢̢͠é̴̕͡ ̀̕̕w̵̸̢̛i̸̧l̢͝͡l̸̨̢͝͡ ̴͡͡͠c͘҉̧̡͏ò̡ņ̶͘͟v̶̶͟i͘͜͜n̢͘͏c̢͞ę̶̶ ̷̷͜ḿ̴̷͟e̸͏҉͏ ̴́o̵͘t̛͞͝h̡́e̵̕͠r̛͡w̡̡͘͟͝i҉̢͜͞͝s̷̵͢é.
For centuries and to this day, the entire planet was lead by a single entity.
With the invention of mana, and subsequently, The Suge in 2035, the world saw an exponentially exponential advancement in techonolgy. Though through time the economical and political climate had it's ups and downs, it was after The Surge that FALC was achieved.

Fully Automated Luxury Communism. Automation was absolute, to the point were work itself from the common folk wasn't needed. From this point on, the wealth was distrubuted equally, from the center leaders to everyone under them, i.e the entire planet. The government gives you the money, you choose what to do with it.
The lack of any divergent governments, therefore opossition, allowed a seamless transition to FALC, and the population embraced it like the gift it was. Now there was no need for work, the goverment paid everyone hadnsomely just for existing. The point of life now became to enjoy it, not to struggle to survive.
crime was reduced to a bare minimum, poverty is literally inexistent, and everyone can live comfortably regardless of what they do or stop doing. People began truly enjoying life, and working purely out of want rather than need. When everything is handed to you on silver platters, you reach a point were you strive for purpose, there are very few individuals who actually enjoy the staleness of doing absolutely nothing 24/7. This longing for purpose lead people to work on whatever field they truly wanted and enjoyed, given there were vacant spots for it of course, same with studies. People that choose to work do get increased income from their job, allowing them to afford the best in technology or entertainment. Surely there are still individuals that are richer than others due to their accomplishments, but even the lowest of beings lives on a big apartment overlooking the sea, so no one truly complains.
In this world, people's probelms are purely personal and emotional, never financial or political.

Enter The Neon City, the jewel of the coast, the prime example of FALC at it's finest. Though the entire planet and therefore cities in it are lead under the same entity and philosophy, none shine quite as bright as The Neon City. A pristine, glittering utopia, full of life and color. Glass castles and tall high-tech buildings decor the pure skyline, suburban areas full of happy families greet newcomers with warm smiles, the many malls and shopping centers are filled with life and noise every day and night, the gigantic parks see people come every day to do excersize, hang out and play, The beach is full of fun shops, bars and attractions for old and young alike...it's truly paradise, or the closest thing to it.
You will never see a dirty street, or beggar. And if you do, consider yourself incredibly, unbelievably lucky! H͘͜͡e̢͝҉̡ ̀͞͞w͜͞͏o̢̡͜ń̴̕͜͞'҉̵͘͜ţ̀́͡ ̢̢̛b̨̢͜͝͡e̷͜ ͏͏̶ţ͘͞͡h͟͞e̛͞͏̀͡r̷͞҉é̢̡ ͏̴͠ţ̛͘͞o͜m̨̨̕o̕ŗr̀͘͞͡o̵͘̕͢͡ẃ͢͝͠

====================Districts====================

1 - Adamant hill: The place where the elite and the wealthiest live. Overlooking the entire city and close enough to the sea, people sometimes like to go there to admire the fancy architecture and giant households, though there are some attractive spots to go to just look at the gargantuan city from somewhat far away.
Average Adamant Hill household

2 - Hillside view: Right next to Adamant hill, Hillside view is a suburban area like many around the Neon city, though it is not dedicated solely to housing, as there are many chain stores, shopping centers, and public service buildings. The very originally named Hillside View Elementary & High is located here, obviously, and it's where many familiar faces go to study.
Relatively unremarkable.

3 - Sparktown: Unlike Hillside view, Sparktown is dedicated to housing. It is a peculiar area, since it preserves a "vintage" style for all it's structures. "vintage" for current year 2054, this area looks like This. It is popular for big families and new residents looking for something that isn't so flashy like the city center.

4 - Dahlia: Another suburban Area, many people move here for the peace and quiet, and for being conveniently close to Hillside View. It rocks a pristine modern architecture, Like so.

5 - Eclipse Lake: The lake is a popular travel spot, because of the many fairs and open air activities. Very good restaurants, open fields, fresh air, Eclipse is a very nice and calming place to visit or even live in.

6 - Sector 6: Called "the sixth" by the cool young lads, this is the commercial area. No recidences in this sector, just fancy malls, restaurants, barber shops, and everything in between. if you need something you can't find at your local district mall or shop, you are guaranteed to find it here. It is also visually and conceptually the part where teh city transitions from the open fields of eclipse lake to the towering skyline of the Auroran Spires.

7 - Desdale: The last of the coastal sector's suburbs, and the biggest one, Desdale is generally the district where newcomers find their home. From family homes to "single dude" apartments, desdale is neither as quiet as eclipse lake or as noisy as Auroran Spires, and though there's a  distinct lack of commercial facilites in general, this is where you can find the Neon City's biggest hospital.

8 - Hypermall: An entire district dedicated to a single structure. Makes sense, when you realize said structure is a 2km long, 5 stories high megastructure you couldn't visit entirely in a day even if you tried. Not the only mall in the city by a long shot, but surely the biggest and most memorable. There are a few residences around it, but it's not a preferred spot generally speaking.

9 - Auroran Spires: Named after the 10km long Aurora Park that stretches in between the giant buildings, this is the place that immediatly comes to mind when someone thinks of the Neon City or it's skyline. None of the hundreds of buildings built here are under 40 stories high, and the park itself is something to behold, as it flows around entire buildings and even seems to crawl up some, thanks to clever architecute. The waving artificial lagoons give it it's name.
It looks a bit like This. and This.

10 - Neon strip: Not named after it's strip clubs, the Neon Strip is everything along the shoreline and the beach. No building here can have less than 4 stories, but no more than 25. The strip is the main attraction for 90% of the people touring the city. A beautiful beach with cristaline waters, a bunch of bars and restaurants, it's impossible to come here and not have a blast. Unless you're sitting on the sand looking at the sunset with a broken heart.

11 - Highrise: Funnily enough no building here is taller than any of Auroran's, but they're still pretty big. this is the Neon City's "traditional urban area". Looks better from afar. There are docks for privately owned boats and lovely piers. The docks for industrial stuff are located further north, away from the city.

From certain sources it seems like your utopia has some little cracks from where a sharp eye might peek some problems… However I have not doubt that if anyone ever spoke up, they can consider themselves unbelievably lucky, as they wouldn’t be there to worry about their findings on the next morning. Anyway, where was I? Anyone need a new apartment? Someone just moved out…

Haha, not really big cracks. people can speak up if they want.
Sadly with highly intelligent beings like humans, sometimes even under the most perfect of systems and with access to everything one might ever want, people manage to be idiots some times.

By that I mean: Drug addicts that end up wasted in the street every day, people that rob or kill just for the fun of it, rapists, abusers... those are the type of people that don't last long in the Neon City.

At night while they sleep, they are visited by santa! in this case, a tiny flea-sized drone that enters through their nose or mouth, and dissolves in their system releasing a swift lethal poison. The next day a crew will be there to clean up.

LOL! When it is ever earth? My OC lives on several universes and all will, in time, become Time Travelers. It is a matter of when in THAT universe they are in  but until then they have their own adventures to live.

But this place seems like a lovely place to be. I'd like to see more of it.

That map looks awesome!

Did you draw all the roads yourself using line tool or did you use something else?

I've been trying to create a map of my town and cities for a long time and they aren't the greatest looking. Although I am trying to do it at a small scale, where you see the yellow and white lines too xD

Thank you! happy you like it, cause indeed I drew it by hand with the standard brush, with stabilizer turned on that is.
I was also looking at like 4 different maps from real cities to make sure to get it at least somewhat realistic n.n''

It's really good for that.

Here's my town/city map (no where near completed and probably never will xD)

They're quite large, so might want to right-click the image and open in new tab to see the road details in Greenwood xD

Maybe, but you know what they say about utopias. By the way I recognized the Manhattan resemblance, spent a week there on holiday some years back, somehow they all recognized my Kiwi accent!

I'm truly satisfied to see this SUPER-informative shared submission!! This will make a huge difference in future written endeavors. I love how established The Neon City is, very intriguing locale to venture forth into. I can't even imagine living here... it would be a wild cultural shift for me! 8)

Gotta love that big city living. Thanks for sharing this soooooooo much <3

Quite the cultural shift for anyone, really~ we're too in use to living just to survive and get at least a bit of comfort, when life turns so that the point is to actually enjoy it, one can get really lost at first~

Happy you like it, as always :p I put lots of thought into it, and I do hope it clears up many things~

(darn I meant to comment on this! O///O) I love your FALC concept, how the 'work to live' need is gone but you can still work to strive if you want to (reckon it's a feasible idea, if a future city ever had the cash for it :) ). Also like how the neighbourhoods have their own themes but still feel like they fit together well (like having residential districts then a commercial and park one, etc). Feels like a well thought-through concept you have going and a cool sci-fi setting; rare you get a utopia that feels like it would work. :)

Being a scared-y-cat I would be curious about Police or Defence Forces. Does the city have these, and are they full-time positions or come-and-go volunteer groups? Are these all in one place or spread across the city? What sort of equipment do they have?

What's the average house-price for Eclipse Lake? And does it have internet? I may be interested, especially as I love the high-tech styles of houses your drawing on in your pictures :). I apologise to my neighbours in advance for my surrounding said house with cameras and sensors (like I said, scared-y-cat XD).

Superb work, and thanks for sharing. I am in love with it so far (even 12... whatever is there...). :)
