BOOK RE-VIEW: Blacky (1939)
The Kangaroo Who Never Grew
I began by drawing Shreeky, but once I finished her head, I realized there wasn't enough vertical height remaining on my card to accommodate what was rest of her body, so... I added Beastly (and I'm glad I did!). :3

A year or so ago, I was asked to draw Shreeky, so I know she has at least one fan out there, and I imagine Beastly has, too---which should make this card twice as appealing to the Care-Bear community. :3

Yeah, for those who don't know, Beastly and Shreeky were the *main villains from the Nelvana incarnation of 'The Care Bears'.
Personally, I preferred the DiC version (DiC had better stories), but Nevana's was that which I had the most exposure to growing up.

*well, technically No-Heart was the leader, but it was Beastly and Shreeky who did most of the dirty work

So, how's this upload relate to Halloween?

Well, if you hear a scream in the middle of the night, it may be from Shreeky and Beastly coming to get you! MUHAHAHA!

...Yeah, I was grasping here, but what you gonna do?

Anyway,

I drew this card via my 'Zephyr' pencil by Wallace Pencil Co., and delineated it via a 'Lovely' pencil by Empire ...I actually contemplated using my 'Heart-Shaped Pencil' but opted against it. ^^

The featured pencil is the 'Midnight'. This particular specimen is from WWII, as indicated by its paper ferrule (ferrules are usually metal, but metals were rationed to the army in those days---at least in America).

I'm unsure which pencil company made the 'Midnight', but its name is cool enough without a maker's mark to go with.
Despite having a hexagonal barrel of average size, the 'Midnight' has a thick core (usually these are found in larger, round-barrel pencils), suggesting this pencil was (probably) meant for sketching on Bristol Board.

Now these two are rarely seen. I mean the Care Bears as a whole don't have that much of a fanbase, but this duo almost count as obscure characters within their own universe.

lol I'm glad you like.

Another thing I want to draw from this series is a character from the 'Star Trek' parody it had.

lol I was thinking either Braveheart or Bright ...but a star buddy would be much easier! :D

Now you must do it, just for the entertainment value. Bonus if you can post a long paragraph detailing all the artistic points involved in depicting the character.

Like a tutorial?

Hm ...only if you agree to make a drawing of the subject after. :3

I was thinking more an overly detailed description like 'Notice their colorscheme, lemon yellow for the front face and butter yellow for the sides -depending of course on lighting. I used a neutral light here to accentuate the line thickness, a medium, maybe 3/8ths of a millimeter as might be drawn by a sharpened 2B pencil.'
