I had a Richard Best 'Crusader' pencil, so I drew Crusader Rabbit to go with it ...because that's how I think, I guess. ^^
An interesting fact about 'Crusader Rabbit' is it was the first animated series made for television (the series begain in 1948). Each episode was only a few minutes, and its stories serialized to maintain viewer interest.
Basically, the rabbit (and hare!) population of Texas is being oppressed by the state's human residents, for causing an epidemic of near-sightedness (a consequence of a carrot shortage produced by the long-eared rodents's insatiable appetites). Crusader takes it upon himself to go to Texas and liberate the rabbits (and hares!), and (incidentally) find a solution to the carrot shortage.
The animation is horrible (as would be expected), and the character models are inconsistent ...but the writing makes up for it---I watched the entire thing, and mostly enjoyed it. :3
I drew Crusader via my Wallace 'Zephyr', and delineated him via a 'Twenty-Grand' pencil.
