I don't have favorites, but Silver holds a special place in my heart. I love her so much! She is Captain of the Retcan war ship "Rage of Lusceonis." That big black ship that has traveled along Canis Major for so long. Some might notice she was just recently featured in my comic, but truth is she's been there since the prologue, as the 'Mysterious Alien Warrior', who I made a ref of too about a year ago https://inkbunny.net/s/2042726 Yes, this is the alien that saved Hasky from being killed by that mechanical monster, which is seen in those first pages of the comic.
"The Great War of Lusceonis.... Once, Retcans were a peaceful race of sentient creatures, who lived in complete harmony with their planet and themselves. Unknowing of the dangers of the universe, they one day opened their trust and their planet to an unknown race of humans, who out of nowhere found this peaceful planet. They were deceived.
These greedy humans wanted nothing more than this pristine planet, to replace their own polluted and destroyed one. They built their cities, colonies, took all the resources for themselves, and slowly pushed the Retcans aside, being seen as inferior and only there to serve.
With time, these humans became more violent and hateful of the Retcans. They were enslaved, and the now beautiful paradise the L. Alpha was, soon started to show the negative impact of indiscriminate resource and land exploitation. Retcans now understood the meaning of evil. The meaning of anger.
Among the newly risen Legion of Lueceonis, Silver fought to purge this evil from their planet and claim it back as it rightfully belonged to them. It was a long and agonizing war, seeing generations of Retcans being lost to the fight. But valiantly and in one last effort from the Retcans, the humans soon realized they were losing more than they gained, and as hurtful as it was to their ego, they left the planet.
Not without a toll. This war had brought pain, death and suffering to Retcans. Even after reclaiming their home planet, and after years of restoring it to its original shape, Retcans had lost themselves; their true gentle and innocent nature. They still managed to live in peace as a race and certainly loved each others unconditionally, but they had grown weary, frightened and aggressive. Paranoia had taken the best of them. This paranoia gave birth to a project that would ensure their peace and safety."Rage of Lusceonis" was born. A massive warship with the only objective of finding these humans, or any other than exhibited a similar society, and end it before they can become a threat, by any means necessary.
Silver made a promise to someone once. Someone that she had lost during that last battle for Lusceonis. She would ensure the safety of their kind, no matter what... Somehow, with an admirable effort, she made it through the ranks and became the one who would lead 'Rage of Lusceonis' to it's destiny. Small and frail as she appeared, she gained the upmost respect even from the strongest and most seasoned Retcan warriors. She had earned that place.
Silver is a resilient little alien. A formidable warrior, of speed and even strength not thought possible due to her physical appearance. She leads Rage with authority. However, Silver does have many weaknesses that she tries her best to hide from everyone, and often even herself. Her awareness of these weaknesses has created even more of these. She is insecure of her own capabilities, frequently being tormented by her past, or passed decisions that she firmly believes were a mistake. This makes her fall into a downward spiral of her doubting her role as Captain, or even a warrior. At one point she has began to doubt the very thing she has fought so hard for, and that is 'Rage of Lusceoni's' prime objective. Knowing this is what keeps the hope of her people, has put a lot of strain in her. Somehow their decade-long detour saving the Evos, rebuilding their Canis Major and teaching them their knowledge has placed their beliefs into perspective. Is Rage of Lusceoni's mission the right thing to do?"
