This is a cover image I created for the BTBF novelization. It is based on the original design sketch for Jonah and Jonathan which essentially established the characters canonical appearances. I've always imagined that this is a treasured picture frame that Jonah has near his bed. This was essentially an updated version of the original drawing. This is also the first full color item of BTBF art. I've always imagined Jonathan in a lot of blues and Jonah in a red sailor suit. Jonathan's eyes are suppose to be azure but they are lilac here because I didn't quite have the correct color available. This came out surprisingly well with both characters being very much "on model" on my first attempt. It almost surpasses the original for a canonical example of their appearances. Both Jonah and Jonathan have evolved a bit since the original drawing and it shows here nicely with these being up to date versions of the character designs.
