For those who recall my 2021 ACO sale for eBay (for which I made only one card), I included this Tasli sketch as a last-minute bonus for the buyer! :D

The buyer'd bought from me more than once before, and Tasli was the only character of mine they didn't have ...and considering I'll never have another sale, I thought to include a quick Tasli (because big happy family!) 83

I decided to keep this Tasli a secret until the buyer'd received their purchase, and now that they have it (at last!), this Tasli can be shared with the world. :3

Next to Timmy, Tasli is probably the least-liked of my OCs ...and Tasli's ok with this; he's never needed anyone's approval (save, perhaps, for Miss Ice Cream's). ^^
That said, Tasli seems like he's in a good mood here---ready to play and get into something (as usual). ^_^

Anyway... pencil!

I try to make as sure as I can that my art doesn't make the featured pencil look bad, but, sometimes, all one has of a vintage pencil is its stub, and old stubs can be very unattractive.

In light of that, this pencil stub and the quickie-esque sketch next to it go well together. :3

The featured stub is from a pencil marked 'Defender', made by the Richard Best Pencil Co. (albeit, 'new' ones aren't marked with the maker's name---'Richard Best Pencil Co.' appears only on the boxes these pencils were sold in)
...that's about all I know of it. ^^

The Defender is a school-quality pencil---nothing special (kinda like Tasli). lol

Anyway... Tasli! :D

Least liked also doesn´t always mean not liked :D
Like being a 9/10 in a group of 10/10´s is still a good quota ;3

I must be the very few that like Tasli then. His character does complement Gene very well and while he can be a mean scamp some of the time (sometimes most of the time), I think he means well. Sure he can be a bad influence to Gene, but he's there with the boy through thick and thin.

I don't know if it's by design, but when I see Gene and Tasli together, I think of the Yin-Yang symbol. They both complement each other and need each other for balance lol. Although, I may be seeing things lol. But anyways, I do like Tasli as a character... not necessarily his character, but THE character... if you know what I mean.

The boy does need an attitude just though lol. :3

I also like Tasli. Of course part of that is that fact that he's a rabbit + boy, which should be obvious by now is a combination I really like (Jonathan Jack Rabbit being the most blatant example). But it's more than that. He embodies a certain rugged unapologetic "boyishness". It's a quality that Taylor McIntosh also has and also makes him likable to me. The only aspect I'm not crazy about is that that boyishness also manifests in a typical avoidance of too much vulnerability or intimacy in male companionship, but this is mitigated by his clearly close friendship with Gene. Gene is very cute and lovable, but the brashness that Tasli represents is always going to stand out of any group of characters. He's almost like a necessary component of any group of friends (I think he counts as what's called "The Lancer" of the group). He's the one that will say what everyone else is thinking but unwilling to say. We love to "hate him" but secretly we kind of like and admire his boldness.

Jonathan is a little bit of a mix. He can be a sassy trouble-maker like Tasli, but he doesn't have the inhibitions of Tasli, instead having a gentle and sincere side like Gene (but only with his friends). That's my ideal. An impossible balance of boyish brashness and daringness like Sonic The Hedgehog with the sensitivity and care of someone like Miles Prower. Sweet + cool = impossible perfection.

I had a little bit of a dislike for Tasli when he was becoming way too cruel to poor Mubba, whose naivety and gentle innocence I had come to like, but in the end they made up when Mubba got back at him so that helped.

Tasli is definitely NOT my least favorite character. I may even like him more than Gene simply because he's more interesting and dynamic. Arguably he might be my favorite (despite occasional misgivings). He might have been the first character that really caught my interest and got me interested in your "channel" to begin with. The first character that made me say "Whose he? I'd like to know more about him". Anyway, rabbits are great, and so are snarky little guttersnipes, putting them together is a winning combination of cute and spunky. (You could say Petroshka is the perfect embodiment of this combination of ideas. I think he's even more cynical and mean spirited than Tasli).

Is that to say that canonically he is meant to be nicer?

Long story, but concisely, the original Tasli aspired to be a superhero (he read comics), which made sense given Tasli had powers (he wanted Gene to be his sidekick).
Tasli was very hyperactive and easy to manipulate.
