Yeah! If you just look at the image as a whole, or not directly at him, it looks a lot like a statue or figurine as part of the desk.

now that's impressive. the only significant difference the painting and the background is the camera noise! I've seen artists do this before so many times with miserable failure, so yeah, fantastic work :3

DAMN be careful you don't scratch your tablet with those little feet claws!
The fact that you used a photo of your own desk only heightens the illusion
and if I hadn't watched you do this I would have sworn someone sent you

So many great subtle things in this! I love how you matched the film grain with the photo elements. Hell, you even got the reflection in the tablet down, even as far as changing the way the light scatters as the surface material changes.

That's lovely!

I must say though - I feel he'd be sitting in the environment a bit more if you emphasized the light from the right monitor though.
His right side has like, the SLIGHTEST hint of it - but I think you could push it a bit more next time =)

Looks awesome though - really lovin' the vivid feel. The hoodie sits on the body really nicely.

But see if you can bring a bit more on the belly part of the sweater - rim lighting wise. And the SLIGHTEST HINT on the left leg. I think that'd do it!

Just from what you've done has really punched up the readability - good on ya bro =)

Okay, looks awesome yadda yadda yadda.

Here's how you can make it even awesomer :3

* Simon would create some ambient occlusion on the table near him. Ideally, you'd see a bit of reflection on the table, but you can fix it by running the background on photoshop and create a darker shadow there
* Noise has already been mentioned (Simon looks too crisp :3)
* I don't know how bright the cintiq is, but some light should be shining up his crotch, I think? I'm not really sure there
* Also, I'm seriously worry about the lack of penis :3~~~

Spectacular stuff. The only thing that really made me realize this was a matte was the right handpaw. Imo the contrast is a little too big there, but that's literally the only thing I can tell right now. Keep on humbling us. :3

What camera did you use to take the picture? The noise from the picture *really* stands out on my tv, especially under the desk. I'd like to poke at it a little and see if I can't clean it up a bit.

It looks great on my monitors! It just looked like someone sneezed on the picture in that one particular area. I couldn't remove the noise in that area without making it look funky, so I overlaid a black layer at 8% (I think?) transparency. It worked out very well!

One of my co-workers just stopped by to drop something off and all he could say was that's amazing! Over and over and over!

Second, I'm starting drawing soon, I've already started on a sketchbook but am having trouble with how to even start a sketch!

Also, I was wondering is there's a difference between having a small wacom or those other things that use pens and a medium/large one? Or if It matters if I have a mouse to go with it and how it could help in any way.

Personally, I don't ever use the mouse that comes with the tablets, I use my own logitech mouse. As for the size, it's not really a big deal either way, especially as a beginner. Obviously, larger ones allow for longer strokes, but any artist can make due with a smaller size no problem :3

P.S. can you give me a few pointers on sketching body parts using geometric shapes? I believe that's the sketching style you use. Most artists choose that style over geometric measurements.. *shivers*...math ><!
