Trans Day of Visibility
Bye Bye, Blue Bunny
I might have no Trans Pride, but I do have great respect and love for my country! And out great American tradition of making better-tasting versions of other countries' foods.

American food is the best in the world.  Sure a lot of our fast-food and chain restaurants are fairly low quality, and much brouhaha is made of that, but that's true anywhere.  Harping on that is just a convenient anti-America tribal signal; agreement is expected and, if not reciprocated, treated as apostasy.

Of course, it's never in vogue to praise America for anything good, thus rarely do people talk about how outstanding our food actually is.

So it goes.

Home cooked meals from a local owned cafe' always beat that fast food scene every time.

Two other types of food that are my favorite are Indian (India) and Cajun.

Love me some good Cajun.  How's that for American food?!  But, nope, it doesn't count... apparently.  Or the Texas staple chicken-fried steak (superior American-version Wiener schnitzel) and the various -Mex variants, distinct from Mexican proper.  I prefer Tex-Mex, though I won't spurn some Cali-Mex if it's all there is.  And the lesser-known American cuisine, New Mexican, which is its own unique amazingness.  And heck, what about American barbeque?  The Best.  Assuming you're in a place where you can get the good stuff.

Cajun being a subcategory of American, and Indian foods (like my favorites such as pizza, spaghetti, and various Chinese foods) are heavily Americanized in America. I've never tried Indian, but I might some time if I see it readily available.

I was mostly being tongue in cheek, and fully support other cultures thinking their own food tastes the best but for my money, American pepperoni and marinara pizza is just vastly better than "more authentic" Neapolitan pizza, "Chinese" takeout is definitely safer than anything you can get in the real mainland China, and while I know fast food is trash I very much doubt I'd enjoy "real" fish and chips as much as I like Long John Silver's.

America has also lead the world in terms of food safety and hygiene practices for a century if not a little more to my knowledge, with a few outliers.

I also definitely think the smaller local pizzerias make better pizza than the big chain I work for now, but it also makes better pizza than the other three big chains that all have locations near me and free mediocre pizza as a work bonus is still free pizza.

And on the subject of America importing, iterating on, improving, and exporting bits of other lands' cultures, the burrito was not popular outside of Chihuahua until Mexicans from there spread it through the USA, then it filtered back into Mexico from there. And my own state has a specific iteration of the burrito that hasn't spread far from here yet (it's called a Wet Burrito, and is somewhat similar to an enchilada).
