Panels 5 and 6. Gwendolyn is from the first generations of 'vermin' that felt reverence toward Redwall Abbey and Martin the Warrior. Obviously she still feels that way.
yes the original story gets lost.. Text gets banned or purged and a distorted narrative is adopted.. This is why no one is allowed to read the dead sea scrolls or early versions of the corran, this is one of the lessons about religion me old mom tried really hard to teach me... this is why I don't Actually hate anyone that clings to religion to make sense of a world where people kill one another over a philosophical Idea.. such a Fan of CHUCKY the Anthropic skunk..;-)

I have little to no knowledge of those things. But my understanding of the Dead Sea Scrolls and such is that the story is 'different'. Not in a way that is more good or evil, but just different than the stories we've all become familiar with over the last 2000 years.

yes this is what rational Sian people say.. but the Catholic church is worried about main worshipers versus splinter groups that worship his mother Merry Maighdiln they where expunged from record and followers where Purged as blasphemers... followers can be stupid Violent when it comes to protecting "The words of scripture" Dumb but it happened,. Brian Jacques did not just pull this really good story out of his Ass. he took it from reading scripture and Record books of real events and adapting it and using Anthro Animals to sell it to kids BRILLIANT!! teaching the truth without ending up skinned alive WOW!

They became aware of it later, yes. Some of the settlers in Cascadia became disillusioned and returned to Mossflower after several decades. They made sure to tell the tales of what had been done.

I like how Gwendolyn acknowledges that she was doing the same thing as the Cascadians, planting seeds of her own beliefs and biases and chose to stop before she could fully corrupt while also admitting to knowing that conflicts last a long time and how she doesn't want to be that source for Chucky.
She cares so much (●´ω`●)
