Last night, I decided to doodle a quick sketch of The Three Stooges.

This probably took me 6 minutes to do, if even that.

This may not be of portrait quality, which it wasn't meant to be...Though I think the artwork is comparable to what would be printed on a simple contemporary record jacket in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

The stooges originally started out with Shemp before Curley came in.

I remember Shemp's line, "Hey, Moe. Hey, Moe".

It certainly is. My siblings and I use to get lots of laughs watching them.

I grew up watching them on my local TV station, and they were some of my favorite comedians.  Now have their whole series on DVD to relive my memories.

I was at one time surprised to find out that Moe and Larry, with a different actor, Curly Joe, resumed making episodes through the 1960s.
After seeing so many of their episodes made in the 1930s and 1940s with Shemp or Curley, it looked strange seeing them in movies with cars from the 1960s

In one 1960s movie of them camping, the stooges had a 1964 Dodge Sportsman van with a boat on a trailer.

In a movie they made in the 1950s with a different actor, Joe, they owned a 1955 Plymouth station wagon.

I heard their last movie was shortly before 1970.

I've only seen a few movies of them made in the 1960s:
>Have Rocket, Will Travel (the one where they went to Venus)
>The Three Stooges Meet Hercules
>Around the World in a Daze
>The Outlaws Is Coming!
>The Three Stooges in Orbit
I also saw the cartoons as well.  Curly Joe was a pretty good replacement stooge, but he wasn't as good as Curly or Shemp.

And that '64 Dodge Sportsman van, I also saw that van in several episodes of Batman.  The ones I saw were mainly the cargo version.

They even made a movie in 1959 of The Three Stooges travelling to Planet Venus.

Here are parts of 1960s episodes integrated with a cartoon series they had.

Then Moe says, "Oh really...I did too", as he slaps Larry and Curley.

Where’s Shemp (the original third stooge)
moyomongoose

This was done from the more well known era of the 1940s with Curley.

You are right about Shemp...The original Three Stooges from the beginning were Moe, Larry and Shemp.

During the late 1930s and 1940s after Shemp left to do solo career, Curley have suffered a stroke in some episodes in 1940s. He may have recovered from hospital but his health still declined as his stroke got worse and in most episodes, Curley got his lines from the script wrong until he was forced to leave the Three Stooges act in May 1946 when a massive stroke ended his show business career. He suffered through serious health problems and several more strokes until his death in 1952 at age 48.

Shemp rather reluctantly returned as the third stooge in 1945-46 until 1955.

After Shemp's death in 1955, he was replaced with Joe, who had a dry bland personality.

Joe eventually died. Then in the very early 1960s, Moe and Larry resumed the show with Curley Joe. The 1960s show featured both cartoon episodes and actors skits of the Three Stooges.

They even made a 1960s movie about a camping trip where they had a 1960s Dodge van with a boat on a trailer. It looked strange after seeing so many older episodes where the cars were built in the 1930s and 1940s era.

Fun fact
After Shemp passed away and the other The Three Stooges film consisted of stock footage with Shemp, Columbia Pictures refused Moe and Larry to continue as just “Two Stooges” hence Joe Besser was introduced but the reception of the 1956 to 1958 Three Stooges films were poor due to:

- Shorter/cheaper budget
- Most of the remakes had the same story but slightly different footage, dialogue and scripts
- Moe and Larry’s health prevented the slapstick violence
- Joe Besser almost have no moments until 1957 where he sort of improved but not much
