It was another normal day like any other, just as boring as any other.

The young cat anthro stretched and yawned as he awoke and sat in his bed for a brief moment. While he was in his same normal bedroom and the same old house, something felt different. He glanced outside, and then at himself. He couldn't quite place it, but it was something about himself that didn't feel right, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was. As far as the young cat anthro in purple pajamas was aware, he looked normal, and nothing changed. He blamed it on reading stories about transforming before he went to bed. He read a story about a cat anthro that got extremely young and joined the mafia, but only because they could mess around with the group in their own special ways of mischief, just like Luna would have.

Luna hopped out of bed and went to the bathroom. He glanced at himself in the mirror and saw his dark furry face just above the sink. He brushed his teeth and fixated on his face. He could tell that there was something different about him. He just couldn't quite place what it was exactly. As he brushed his teeth with one hand, he ran the other along his fuzzy cheeks. 'Is my face softer?' He thought. He looked at his arms, and then his legs. He was as strong as any child his age would be. That is, virtually no muscle mass showing at all. It was hard to identify that he was male unless one glanced closely at him, but at the same time, it was also hard to say if he was a female from a distance. Even his voice as he let out an 'Ahhh' to gargle mouthwash was hard to tell if it was a male or female saying it, but he didn't mind that one bit. In fact, he was always somewhat proud of his relative femininity since he really liked anything that was cute and colorful.

With a casual mental shrug, the dark furry cat anthro got dressed in a plain blue shirt and shorts. He double checked himself in the mirror and confirmed that the clothes he wore were mostly masculine. He then helped himself to breakfast. He didn't eat anything too fancy, just enough to get him started with the day.
His mother was there working at home, while his father was gone for the day working as well. He was young enough to need to go to school still, but he was on vacation today. He pulled out his phone, unlocked it, and looked through his list of things to do today. He may not have had to go to school, but he had a bunch of errands that his mom assigned for him to do. She didn't overwhelm him with chores, just enough things to be done before lunch, and then he'd have the rest of the day to do whatever he pleased.

"I have to go to the post office to drop off a package." Luna grabbed a small brown box no bigger than the size of a shoebox. "Guess I'll start with that." He stepped outside and greeted the day, the cloudy muggy chilly day. It wasn't cold enough to put on anything warmer than a t-shirt, though the shirt felt strange. The shirt felt as if it rode up on him more than it should have, and while he pulled it down, it still felt as if it were just the tiniest bit too short on him, even though he couldn't feel his fur between the shirt and shorts.

"Let's see...I have to pick up those prescriptions for mom, too." Luna said to himself. He dug into his pockets as he walked along the sidewalk. It was still early enough in the day that there weren't many others walking on the street just yet. Luna saw a few cars, but little else. It just felt like a regular day, with the exception that something still felt so different about him. He just wished he could pinpoint 'what' it was exactly. He had to look at himself and see that he was still a cat anthro with a tail that swayed behind him, but he saw nothing, nor did he feel anything, out of the ordinary.
He decided to continue. "Then a few groceries, then that should take care of everything until lunch."
Luna was a hard worker. He loathed sitting around doing nothing but playing video games all day, though people would often accuse him of doing that anyways. He also liked having some fun with people when he had the chance, though

Luna arrived at a busy intersection and pressed the button at the stoplight so he could cross to get to the post office. He thought it lucky that the post office, pharmacy, and grocery store were in such a close proximity to each other, though he'd have to cross the street multiple times. Still, that was one upside to living in a populated area was the ease of access without a car. Luna walked across the street with one hand in his pocket, and the other idly checking his phone. He passed by a few people, unaware that those people had to do a second take to Luna, but they didn't say anything to him.

Luna walked into his first destination at the post office. He let out a sigh as he saw a line of three other cat anthros. He waited with an impatient look in his eye. His mind thought about what kind of tricks or shenanigans he could pull while waiting, but he didn't want to be rude. He was playful, not mean.

Just as Luna was second in line, he felt someone bump into him from behind. He turned and saw a woman with several packages. One of these packages fell forward, but Luna managed to catch it with both hands. With wide eyes, he put the box on top of the counter next to him. The box wasn't heavy, but he could tell whoever was holding onto all of them was struggling to see, let alone balance those boxes. "Maybe you uh, maybe you should set those down on the counter?" There was a large table in the center of the line, large enough to fit most kinds of packages, just in case someone had last minute mailing to do.

The cat woman let out a heavy huff. She set down the various light brown boxes and sighed heavily. "Y-yeah. Thanks, little boy." She said breathlessly. Then, she looked down at Luna. Her eyes glazed over Luna from his feet, all the way up to his head. "Um, I mean...young...kitty." She tilted her head slightly as her eyes looked into Luna's own.

Luna casually shrugged up at the woman. He didn't think much about her having issues with his gender. The woman probably had problems seeing, especially with her thick glasses and age. Gender was never really an issue with him. "No problem." He said with a dismissive wave.

"You um...I want to make sure I got it right. You are male, right? I don't want to offend you if you aren't!"

Luna could see the hesitancy in the woman. Luna was normally a playful kitty. He'd love nothing more than to joke around with her and have a little fun, but he saw the sweat from her brows, and her wide eyed fearful expression that made him feel as if he was going to scream and scold her. He couldn't be mean to someone like that.
"No, you're right. I'm a male. It's okay." He smiled sweetly. Most of the time, despite how unisex Luna thought himself, people got his gender right. He could see she was struggling 'very' hard though.

Luna took care of the package effortlessly, paid for everything, and went about his day to his next destination as if it were nothing. He swore he had a few more errands to run, but he couldn't remember what. He opened up his phone and scanned his face to unlock it. As the phone scanned his face, it came up with an error that his face wasn't recognizable. "Go figure." He paused at the lobby of the post office and scanned his face a few more times. He gave up and just used his fingerprint instead, which the phone recognized right away. "Facial apps hate cats." He mumbled, knowing there were so many other problems with it before. He walked out to his next destination, and that was to get some prescription medications. He figured that wouldn't be a problem.

Luna stepped into Malgreens, a large pharmacy chain, and just walked into the back. The cat anthro stopped only briefly to glance at the trading cards. He noticed the security tag pierced through the center of the cards, destroying their value, much less any real reason to use them. "When will they learn?" He said quietly. Luna then walked up to the counter and rang the bell.

A white furry cat anthro in a lab coat walked over to the desk. The cat anthro was most certainly a she, and she looked very old with thick glasses. "Yes, how I can I help you, little...?" She paused as she looked down at Luna, and tilted her head. "Um...little kitty?"

Many considered the name Kitty an insult. It meant to be super young. Granted, Luna was 'very' young compared to this cat, but it didn't make him feel any better or worse to hear the name. It was obvious the woman was struggling with something with Luna. He figured that his gender should be obvious. He wasn't 'that' young to mistake for a man or woman. "I'm just here to pick something up." He slipped the woman a paper.

The woman nodded. She grabbed the paper and walked off shortly before she returned empty-handed. "It will take about fifteen minutes before it is ready. Is that okay?"

Luna put his hands into his pant pockets and shrugged. "Sure." Luna turned around and casually walked away. He thought it a bit strange how the pharmacist seemed to struggle with how to refer to him, and it was the second person that had issues too.

Luna hated waiting. Then again, he hated how his day was going. The day was so boring! With the exception of a few people mistaking his gender, things were just so ordinary. He pulled out his phone and checked the time, but the store had no Wi-Fi connection for Luna to play the majority of the games he had on it. "How hard is it to have something eventful happen?" He poked through the log of writing books he had, much of it transformation-based material. He was a fan of transformation, and often envisioned himself as something else on occasion, though he'd never admit it aloud. He read a few stories written by a horse anthro until he heard his name over the PA that his prescriptions were ready.

Luna walked back to the pharmacy counter and grabbed the prescriptions. He also grabbed himself a candy bar before he left, leaving without any significant problems or people that confused him for one gender or another. Just as Luna was leaving, he felt as if there was a pair of eyes locked on him. Curiously, he turned around and saw the cashier looking at him.

Just as Luna turned and saw the cashier, the cashier turned his attention to the next customer in line, clearly faking a smile as they assisted them.

Luna turned back around and shrugged. He felt another pair of eyes on him, but ignored it as he left.

"Aren't you going to tell me to have a good day?" Luna asked with a grin on his face after he made his purchase. Unlike the previous person, he knew this cashier didn't look nearly as nervous.

"Uh..." The cashier paused. "Have a good day, sir?" The cashier replied, as if he was asking if he got his gender right.

"Good boy." Luna beamed as he left the pharmacy.

Back on the streets, Luna thought it was a little strange. With the exception of people struggling to figure out his gender, as if he were to have an identity crisis, Luna was very casual. He recalled the many countless 'Male to female' stories out there in existence, and recalled how perverted many of them would get. He thought if he became a woman that he would just live his life out the way he currently was. No reason to go about things differently. He'd just be doing a lot more sitting instead of standing, and perhaps indulge more in his feminine tendencies. 'Skirts are kind of cute, after all.' He thought to himself. 'Why should people in Scotland get all the fun with kilts, anyways?'

As Luna walked along, he looked down at himself. He was a little young, but he knew his gender. Luna's gender should be as clear as day, but the more Luna was in public the more he noticed people staring at him questionably.

Luna walked along the sidewalk and then waited at a stoplight to get to his next destination, Luna noticed a man with a short beard stare down at him. Now, things were getting a bit annoying.
"Can I help you?" Luna asked the man.

The man cleared his throat and glanced down at Luna. "It just...it almost looks like your purple shirt is shrinking in the sun. Is it a special shirt?"

Luna shook his head. "No. It's a normal shirt like any other. Also, it's blue." He recalled the online dresses that changed colors under certain conditions. He didn't recall there ever being a male version of that kind of clothing, but he'd love to try one out if there ever came to be.
Luna turned away from the man. He looked down at his clothing, and sighed. His outfit did feel a bit strange and the color looked off too.
Normally, Luna wore a blue colored outfit with teal, a red scarf, a matching blue hat, and blue shorts. While he still had the teal bits at the end of the sleeves, the blue color looked deeper, as if he were in darkness. However, it was a bright sunny day, so there was no way the shirt should have been the color it was. The shirt also rode up a bit and exposed just a bit of his belly. He tugged the shirt down, but it just raised back up. With a slight sigh, he went about his day and looked down at his next task.

Luna told himself that he'd just take care of his clothes issue later. His clothes felt stranger than before, but they still fit, mostly anyways. "Right, I have to get groceries next." He told himself.

Luna didn't have to walk far for the grocery store either. He only had to pick up three small things, but just as he arrived at the door, his phone vibrated with a list of three more things. "Groceries always trick you into buying more. Just buy what's on the list, and that's it. No need to buy a brand new television." He said with a sigh. He pulled down his shirt again. As he tugged, he felt a strange fabric over his belly that he hadn't felt before. He glanced down and saw two straps that went from his shirt to his shorts. He reached behind him and didn't feel any straps on his back, just his front. 'That's not strange at all.' He thought sarcastically.

Luna entered the grocery store and grabbed a basket. He continued to think about how boring the day was, with the exception of how strange his clothing felt on his body. His clothes weren't bothersome enough to buy something new, but as he walked through the grocery store, he swore his clothing felt stranger. He felt a breeze on his legs, just around where his thighs were. He normally wore shorts, but now his shorts felt even shorter. Moreover, he could swear he felt his thighs rub against one another, but surely, that should be impossible, as the leggings of his pants should have separated them. He wasn't one to stop and feel his thigh to check though; he just continued his shopping experience.

While Luna went shopping, he could tell there were more eyes on him. He turned to the left, and to the right. While the grocery store was undoubtedly busier than the clothing store, he could see a few eyes on him, while others just casually shopped as if he weren't there.
Luna's ears flickered as he overheard some whispers, notably from older women commenting about how revealing 'she' was dressing up for her age, and it wasn't hard to assume that 'she' meant Luna. He glanced down at his outfit and noticed how different it looked now. His belly was more revealing than ever, his shorts rode up higher on his legs and felt almost as if it were a skirt, and even his shoes were smaller. Where many would freak out about such changes though, Luna almost wondered if he could make a game out of everyone confusing his gender.

'You'd almost think I was some kind of alien with the stares.' Luna thought. The many stares of people annoyed him, but at the same time, he almost wondered if he could make a game out of it. More than a few people got his gender mixed up, and now that he wore nothing more than a belly free shirt with suspenders that were attached to a skirt, it would likely be even easier to screw it up. He didn't want to 'force' them on his gender though, or confuse them by telling them what gender he really was. He picked up the groceries, mostly fruits, vegetables, and the obligated milk and eggs before he went to the registers to meet the cashier.

The cashier looked only slightly older than Luna did, and a female at that. With an apathetic look on her face, she scanned his items. "Did you find everything okay, ma'am?" She asked casually.

"Oh, you really think I look like a ma'am? What makes me more woman than a man?" Luna asked with a small grin on his face. He tried to speak as unisex as he could, though it was a challenge to try to speak in a way that didn't sound as 'either' gender.

"What do you mean? You're a woman, aren't you?" The cashier continued to sound as if she didn't care.

Luna rolled his eyes. "If you looked at me, maybe you could decide." He hopped up onto a small shelf normally used for bags. He spread his arms and legs, and put his hands on his hips. "Look at me and tell me what gender you think I am."
Luna reached up to grab his hat to pull it off, as if taking off his hat would help the cashier reveal his gender, but he felt two cat ears atop his head instead. He continued feeling his top and gave the ears a pull. The ears didn't feel as if they belonged to him, but rather that they belonged to his outfit. He knew that should not have been possible, as the hat he originally wore definitely did 'not' have ears, but he just let it go. As it turned out, even his hat wasn't spared from the changes, as it was now attached to the rest of his belly-free shirt, or rather his new hoodie. He was now more curious than ever about his outfit though.

The cashier glanced at Luna carefully. She looked at him up and down. She saw his shoes, his skirt, and the clothing that covered so little of his top. "You're definitely behaving like a male, though you still look like a female. If I had to guess, I'd say you're a tomboy."

Luna mentally chuckled. He kept the grin on his face as he hopped down and paid the grocery bills. "Sure, whatever gender you think I am, I am." He grabbed the groceries and left back home. He was going to go back out and do other things after lunch of course. He found the fact that so many were confusing him for another gender amusing. He felt a little unusual sure, but it wasn't in a manner that made him think he was transforming or something. Just as he got to the exit, he turned his head as he thought to himself.
'I wonder how many people think I'm a girl.' Deep down, he wondered how many people he could convince he was a girl without even telling them. It was an amusing enough idea to try.

Before Luna left the store, he paused at the bathrooms. He glanced at the male one, and the female one. He wanted to look in a mirror to see his outfit, but now it was a matter of what bathroom he was going to use, or at least go into to see what he looked like.

Luna just shrugged and walked into the men's bathroom. Part of him wanted to walk into the women's, but he'd get stares either way. Besides, he just had to look at his outfit in a mirror. He carried the small amount of groceries in his hand as he walked in the white tiled bathroom.

Luna glanced at a mirror above the sinks in the bathroom and stepped back. As he saw his reflection, he couldn't believe what stared back at him.

Luna's once teal hat was gone, replaced by a hoodie with cat ears that perfectly fit over his own ears. The hoodie wrapped around the sides and back of his head before it went down to his now clearly purple shirt, which rode up enough to expose his belly. Attached to it were suspenders, which went all the way down to his former shorts, which were now a mini-skirt. Luna wished he could be more concerned about showing off his furry belly, but the fact he was showing off so much fur didn't bother him.

'Hm. So something weird is going on. My shirt is shorter, and my shorts are also...shorter.' He thought, and then casually shrugged. "Oh well." His clothes transforming was very bizarre, but it didn't bother him. He did wonder 'why' it was happening, but he couldn't do anything about it but let it happen. He stepped out of the bathroom just in time to get a double take from an older male cat. Luna glanced back at the cat, and the older cat quickly turned away from Luna, though they were double-checking the signs on the bathroom doors before they went into the men's bathroom. Luna just laughed and walked out of the grocery store.

Luna walked back home with items in tow. With his chores done, it was now time for him to mess around. He already decided on his first target, though he knew what the answer would be.
Luna opened the door to his house and immediately smelled shrimp on the stove. Luna's mother very much was a cat stereotype, complete with having seafood almost every day for every meal.

Luna's mother turned to him with a smile. "Hey sweetie! Lunch is all ready for you. How did your errands go?"

"A little boring." Luna admitted. He wondered why his mom didn't say anything about his outfit right away. She knew that he didn't wear this outfit when he left, and he certainly didn't come back to change either. He wondered maybe if she just didn't want to judge what he wore, or how he got it, though it didn't answer why she wasn't curious about it at least. He definitely would have been curious if she came home in another outfit, after all.
He tugged at the fake cat ears on the suit. He could just barely feel his ears underneath the top. "Hey mom, can I ask you something?"

Luna's mother set down a plate for Luna, complete with a glass of milk. "What is it dear?"

"What gender do you think I am? Like, if you saw me on the street like this." Luna put his back up against the wall and raised one foot against it. "Would you think I'm male or female?"

Luna's mother paused. She looked at Luna oddly. "I...I'm not sure what you mean, but if this is about gender identity, I will love and respect you, no matter what gender you want to be. I can have a sensational son, or a delightful daughter. I'll love you no matter what. Now, whatever gender you may be, everyone has to eat."

'Typical mom answer when you're having a gender identity crisis. Not that I'm having one.' Luna ate his lunch as he thought about what to do for the rest of the day. Once finished, he got rid of his plate and had a brainstorm.
A few people confused his gender already. Surely, he could do 'something' with that. The male and female genders were generally equal for the most part of society with the exceptions of bathrooms, and he didn't want to go through messing around with that. "Hm..." He thought about professional places, places where people would often refer to people as 'sir' or 'ma'am', classy places, or places that would divide based on gender. Of course, the topic of gender was difficult to divide, which just made it all the harder to decide.

"Why did you want to know about your gender, dear?" Luna's mom asked, and then immediately added. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"Well, what about my outfit?" Luna asked. He pulled back from the table and stood up on the chair. "You know the outfit I left home with, right?"

Luna's mom looked at the outfit and tilted her head. "Oh, I hadn't noticed." She said with a light laugh. "I thought you might have bought yourself a little something. You did that, right? It's okay, you can dress however you want, feminine or not."

Luna didn't think his outfit was that feminine. He preferred to call it cute. Then again, he had different standards for what clothes people of different genders should wear, and was rather open about it. Sure enough however, it was very different from what it once was by now. It went from teal to purple, and it revealed so much more of his body, except for his head, which it hid the back of it so people couldn't identify if he had long hair or not. His shirt was also so small that it showed off his belly, which was still annoying him. Then again, he was home. He thought he could change. He sat back down and glanced at his shoes, which also transformed. His shoes, once tall enough to reach the bottom of his knees, were now so short that they just barely covered his feet. He felt as if he were a little kid again in the clothing, but full of energy.

"Oh, I have an idea." Luna pulled out his phone and scrolled through the apps. He found a face one and booted it up. He remembered trying to unlock his phone earlier with his face, but to no avail. He picked an app that showed what he would look like under different filters and started it up. He set the phone down on a small stand on the table. Luna positioned his face on the screen and watched as it tried to identify him. The phone got the species right, and then for the gender it said 'female' on it. "Hah. I'm not surprised." He put the phone away and rolled his eyes with a smile. Whatever it was that happened, so many things thought of him as a female, and he just had to take advantage of that. It felt as if fewer and fewer things knew that he 'was' still a male. He doubted that even his own mother would know, had she not lived with him for all of his life. Still, he got an idea of just what he should do. "Hey mom, I'm going to the milk bar." He called out.

"Okay, just be careful." Luna's mom waved with a smile. "Be back before sundown."

Luna left the house and walked off once more. His next destination was to a milk bar. The owner of the milk bar designed it as best as they can to get people to match up and date one another, although the way they went about it was debatable.

Luna walked outside once more and noticed it was busier, but he didn't get nearly as much attention. Of course, he didn't expect to get attention in a general crowd. The world acted as if it were completely normal around him despite it felt as if he went through some sort of transformation recently. He walked to another part of the city, taking his time to admire the sights. He'd known he made it there when he saw one large building with a huge milk bottle above it for decoration.

The interior of the bar had wooden floors, ceiling, and even a roof. It resembled a bar of sorts, but with flavors of milk instead of any other kind of drinks. There was the regular milk and chocolate, but there were also options of orange, raspberry, banana, almost every kind of fruit was a milk, and the bar sold that kind of milk. There was a large chubby tanuki running the front with a big white apron in front of him. He glanced over at Luna as he was cleaning a glass, and then turned his attention back to said glass.

Luna noticed the stools were assigned by colors. Males sat in blue, and females sat in pink. Of course, one could move the stools around, but the bar designed itself to be a place to meet the other gender, or occasionally the same. Luna walked up to the stools, and glanced to the tanuki. "Hey, where do you think I should sit?"

The tanuki peeked down at Luna and casually shrugged. "I would say the women's. You definitely do not look like a male."

Luna hopped up and leaned onto the counter. "What if I were to tell you that I was a male?" He reached into his pocket. "And I have my identity card to prove it?"

"I'd say you have a fake identity card and you can't drink milk with that." The tanuki casually responded. "If it doesn't say female, you can't drink here."

"What? Oh come on." Luna put his hands underneath his chin. "I am one hundred percent male. You know I have ways to prove it."

"Ma'am, at your age, that would get me arrested." The tanuki set the glass down.

Luna raised a brow. He had a strong feeling what the Tanuk meant. "I was referring to my real...like...my birth certificate and my card and all of that identification."

"Of course." The tanuki rolled his eyes. "No documentation can convince me that you are male."

Luna turned to the left, and then to the right. There was one other bar patron and there was a man playing a music box off to the side, likely as a side gig to make money. The other bar patron looked as if he was trying to drown his sorrows away in the biggest milk glass available. "Okay. Well, do you still need to see my ID for milk?"

"What do YOU think?" The tanuki glared down at Luna angrily.

Luna put his face in his palm and groaned. "Okay. One orange flavor please." He reached into his pocket and pulled out some money. People really didn't know he was male, and he knew if someone thought that he was female, he couldn't convince them otherwise. At least, he couldn't convince them otherwise with shorts. Then again, gender wasn't even physical based anyways. It then gave Luna an idea.

"Hey, just because I look like a woman doesn't mean I AM a woman, you know?" Luna smirked.

The tanuki was just about to get him a glass of orange milk before he paused. "Okay, are we really going to get into the topic of gender identity here?"

The topic was controversial at best. No amount of stories written by a strange person would change that. Still, Luna knew he was male. He wasn't sure if it was just the hoodie or that strange feeling he went through that made others think he was a woman, but he was going to mess with some minds. "You say I'm female. What makes you think I am female, out of curiosity?"

The tanuki took a moment to glance over Luna. "Well...uh..." He had to take a long, hard look at the furry feline. "Your face?"

"What about my face?" Luna gave the tanuki big kitty pleading eyes, complete with giant pupils. Luna did feel unusual around his body, but he never bothered to look at his body to see if there were any differences. His clothes fit differently, but he was wearing a new hoodie now.

"...never mind." The bartender served up Luna's glass. "Sit where you want."

Luna chuckled at the tanuki. So he could find ways to have some fun with this new gender issue. People thought he was a female? He was going to be more than happy to prove them wrong, but in fun entertaining ways over anything else. Most of the world might treat him the same if they thought of him as a woman, but he knew a few places that discriminated genders. One conversation was all he would need to convince them that if he looked female, what did it matter? He could prove himself as a male, and have a fun time doing it. Alternatively, he could make the person feel uncomfortable describing 'what' made Luna female, as Luna didn't even know! He didn't think his face transformed. He was too young to have facial hair. He had fur, but so did literally almost every other cat out there.

He was going to have fun making almost everyone think he was a female. Even if he himself knew, he was still fully a guy.
