Heyo! Told ya I'd upload some stuff. Here is pretty much the new designs and just the overall look of the characters. I like that I got the style down, having it be more closely resemble the canon models but still have that anthro flare I have. I'm gonna info dump so it's okay to not read it all. I'm gonna go in like chronological order for stuff to make sense.
TL:DR:
- Jules' and Uncle Chucks' backstory stays the same, their dad dies early and they are drafted into the great war.
- Bernadetta is a new addition to the AU because I wanted to give her some love too. She is a longtime friend of Jules and Charles and fought alongside them in the war. She remains in touch with both until their unfortunate passing.
- During the great war, Jules gets into an accident that ends with him getting robot limbs. He and Chuck are assigned to protect the princess (aka Aleena) and that's when she and Jules fall in love. They end up saving Robotnik who escaped from human custody. They then discover the origins of the chaos emeralds and look for them. They find them on angel island and with them, they win the war.
- Jules can harness the power of the emeralds like Canon Sonic, he gets his own super form. He uses said super form in the final battle and is considered the "hero of Mobius." He can use a small amount of chaos energy but not to the likes of Shadow.
- Because Jules is considered a hero, he is allowed to marry Aleena and becomes King of Mobius. While grateful and honored, he still has aspirations to be a scientist like his dead father. Chuck is named the royal scientist and watches over the emeralds. Both brothers work on harnessing the power of the emeralds.
- Years pass by and the triplets are born: Chaos, Sonia, and Manic. When Chaos is born, Jules starts having strange visions and dreams about him and the chaos emeralds. He senses that there is more to his son than what he thought. He keeps a close eye on him.
- Years pass and Jules shows his kids the emeralds. He talks about the war and how he became a hero. Chaos points out he wants to be a hero like his dad.
- At this moment, Chaos is drawn to them and tries to grab one but is stopped by Jules. Later that night, Chaos wakes up by a voice calling out to him and goes down to where the emeralds are held. He touches one and he is met with the spirit of Tikal and a small ball of light. Chaos is confused but Tikal clarifies what she wants.
- The chaos emeralds have always harbored a spirit that acts as the conscience of the emeralds like how Tikal acts like the spirit of the master emerald. Every certain amount of time, the emeralds choose a guardian, like how the master emerald has a guardian. Said guardian is dutied to keep the balance of the emeralds, to keep the energy balanced.
- Chaos has been chosen to become the next guardian, however, tikal does give him the option of declining seeing as he is merely a child. Chaos, however, accepts, remembering his dream of being a hero. The chaos spirit merges with him, granting him full control of the chaos energy.
- Chaos(sonic) and Chaos merge, however, Chaos(sonic)'s body cannot handle the energy inside him. It's at this point that Jules and Chuck find Chaos writhing in pain. They take him away from the emeralds and try to figure out what's wrong.
- Noticing the excess energy in his son's body, jules and chuck create their version of inhibitor rings. Chaos goes back to normal but ends up separating the Chaos spirit from his body. In turn, he is given a physical form instead of being a ball of light.
- Jules finally understands his visions. Realizing that his son was born for something more than being a king. He takes it upon himself to teach him everything he knows about how to control chaos energy. This leads to Jules further forgetting his duties of being King which pisses off Aleena.
- Aleena doesn't like what happened to Chaos and wants the emeralds gone. Jules can't do that and tells her about Chaos. She doesn't believe him. They fight for months before Jules decides to step down and divorce Aleena.
- They divorce, but Jules gets custody over Chaos under the condition he must return to fulfill his royal duties when he's older. Jules and Chaos leave and takes the emeralds. Aleena gets angry and becomes an alcoholic while Sonia and Manic are left to wonder why Jules and Chaos left.
- Jules trains Chaos for the next three years before he discovers he has NIDS. It's revealed that his family has a history with it and his son has it too.
- It's at this time Jules and Bernie meet together again and begin to fall in love. Bernie acts like a second mom to Chaos. However, she loses contact with Jules and Chaos after his passing.
- Jules gets killed by Maximillian Acorn because he was the original suitor for Aleena. He wants revenge. No kidnapping or rape happens. Both hedgehogs try to escape but Chaos is the only one that was able to hide. He is later found by his uncle who came with the authorities since Jule sent out an SOS.
- Chaos is taken back to live with his mom. Chuck dies a few months later. The abuse begins. Aleena, hurting from what Jules did, takes out her anger on Chaos. Everyone, Sonia and Manic, and the servants begin to abuse Chaos. He grows up becoming used to it and begins to isolate himself. Due to her alcoholism, Chaos begins to take up certain royal duties, much to his dismay.
- Everything Chaos has bottled up explodes when Aleena begins to talk about Jules in front of him. Chaos, overwhelmed by anger, releases a chaos blast and shocks everyone, even himself. Everyone cools it with the mistreatment but now sees him as dangerous.
- Manic becomes the only one that gets close to Chaos and begins to understand the situation. He and Sonia were left out on a lot of stuff and only now knows what happened to their dad. He feels guilty about being so mean and begs for forgiveness to which Chaos accepts.
- Both brothers grow close. Manic brings up the notion of living a life not connected to royalty. That starts giving Chaos an idea. They talk about running away, unknowingly to Manic, Chaos begins considering it.
- Chaos plans to run away. He packs his things and heads out only to be stopped by Manic. He wants to go with him but Chaos stops him, telling him that he has to go alone. That he's better off staying at the castle. Manic understands and both hug before Chaos sneaks out and leaves behind everything.
- Chaos leaves to his dad's house to collect a few things before going to find his uncle's workshop. There he finds the Tornado an address book. He recognizes one of the names and sets sail. He flies the tornado to South island.
- He finds Bernie and immediately she takes Chaos in as her own. Chaos changes his name to Sonic and begins life anew on South island.
- Events afterwards take places like normal, only difference is that Sonic has a mom now. She remains the only person who knows the truth about him.
