Heyo, back with another thing for my Chaos au. Thought I'd sketch up Chaos and talk a little bit about the changes I've made to him.
First and foremost, he's no longer the "negative" energy of Sonic but rather his own being. Pretty much he's the spirit of the Chaos emeralds. Reasons for this change came about because Chaos just ended up becoming his own character rather than sticking to being Sonic's "dark" side. This suited him more and also thought it'd be cool :D Also, he doesn't have a specified gender since he's energy given consciousness he would be considered genderfluid. He does go by the pronouns of whichever guardian he chooses. Rn, he goes by he/they cuz he's connected to sonic.
I ended up making a few design changes to him, mostly dialing back on the green stuff. His eye color changes depending on one which Chaos emerald he's in close proximity to. Thought that'd be cool.
On the far right, that's pretty much how Chaos would look like when not connected to a guardian. Took a bit of inspiration from hyper sonic and tried mixing in Aztec/Mayan styles for his appearance. In my own lore, he chooses his own guardian to protect the emeralds and keep shit balanced. As such, he merges with said guardian, granting said guardian the ability to use chaos energy. Ignoring what's said on the sketch, that hyper form is his true form and the form he uses. The sonic situation is different ofc.
