This Douglas Aircraft DC-3 is one of the planes Al and Marge Coyote took the cubs to the Albuquerque Municipal Airport to watch the planes take off. This is in August of 1960.
I have heard that DC-3s were used a lot by the Postal Service during the 1940s and 1950s for airmail service. Some of them were used to deliver humanitarian aid and supplies to 3rd world countries.
