The air was cold as the snow continued to fall as two boys walked onto a coated field in a park near the centre of the city. The day was almost at an end, with the two boys, Ion and Zephyr, enjoying the day off in the winter wonderland, free from the stress of any Hunter Contract. It was also a rare site to see these two boys wearing more casual clothing, Zephyr in a thick sweater while Ion adorned a lighter sweater with a small jacket and scarf, both wearing regular long pants with special leggings that allowed their foot paws better grip on the surrounding environment, both being arctic foxes, the cold snow on their pads was not a problem. Ion and Zephyr enjoyed these days out together, sure they were around each other almost all the time being mates, but these rare opportunities allowed them to feel more normal, to just be regular folks and to be part of the average society, a welcome change from their normal lives.
But just as a day come to an end, so do these moments, watching the sun set, Ion mentioned that he didn't want the day to end just yet and Zephyr knowing the feeling got an idea into his head. He turned around and grabbed onto Ion's hand, saying the day was not over just yet, the night was still young, there was plenty of activities still around the corner and besides, Zephyr made the point that they didn't need to take on another Hunter Contract right away, they could have fun cruzing the night around town while just relaxing the next day. There was no rush, even if they just wanted to just be normal for a few more days, they have been Hunting almost non-stop for a while, they could indulge in an extended break. As Zephyr was making his case, Ion though about in for a moment before smiling as it felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, "you are right, this is just what we need!" Ion said still with that cute smile on his face. "Good I am glad you agree" Zephyr responded as he then pulled Ion forward as he was leading the way, the sudden jolt caused Ion to flail a bit as he almost lost his footing on the snowy ground, "well then first things first, why not we just go out and enjoy a nice dinner, my treat!" Zephyr continued with a smile on his face as the two boys walked back into the streets of the city, enjoying the rest of the night and their time as just regular folks.
