Gwendolyn's parents had a romance that would fit every sappy Peter Cetera song ever written. She was raised in an environment of love and affection. Sometimes her parents were a little too much and she'd make pukey faces at them whenever they got too sappy with each other.

Her father was shattered when her mother died. He'd always been there to protect and save her, but he couldn't protect his true love from an invisible disease and it undid him.

I'm not crying, it is just the smoke from the fire getting into my eyes...

But seriously wow, as always amazing story telling from you and some wonderful in depth characters.

Thanks man. I have to show this world in color sometimes. I'll make sure to do one of Chucky and Gwendolyn at some point.

Just like last time, those expressions are just heartbreaking.  And Just how much Chucky is feeling a connection and sympathy and pain from the story just speaks volumes of his own character. Also, that picture of Boldren and Laikin is really lovely!

I wanted him to look slightly sick while contemplating her experience.

Your characters and stories are amazing. Making a sad story is much harder than making a funny one, and you can make both.

Love that glimpse of them in happier times. I've got collars on the brain though: what's she wearing one for now?!

It's her personal style, a fashion accessory. Collars and chokers are common among Wicca and goth chicks. Despite her living out in the woods, she does put some thought into her appearance. And now that she's got a young boy to pall around with, she'll probably make herself up a little more.
