One thing I was ignorant about as a kid concerning the Spanish Inquisitions was, I had at one time thought the inquisitioners journeyed into England when it was still heathen. I had thought the English that the Spanish were killing were rapists, drunks, fornacators, child molesters, thieves and the alike who refused to turn from their wicked ways. And as a kid, I use to think the ways of the Spanish Inquisition were very harsh, though they felt committed to their "noble cause" of culling the evil out of the English countryside.
Actually, I later learned that wasn't it at all. The Spanish Inquisition was from the Catholic Church in Spain. They journeyed into England to kill Protestants who refused to denounce their faith and convert to Catholicism.
