Hey come along, And join the fun It's a time for Fairy tales Magical kingdoms In the sun Come along, Come along...
I guess come along to Nippon's 'Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics' (GFTC) because that's where this song (and our fox) comes from. Specifically, let's go to to the story of The Wolf and the Fox ...which may be viewed here: (link tested 01/24/2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fYi9CNpA-E
GFTC has been on my draw list a while, albeit, I didn't have a character I wanted to draw to represent it in my gallery. So today I chose the most predictable GFTC subject a furry could---I drew the stupid fox. :P
Well, the fox isn't stupid (far from it), but the GFTC version is a bit of a pushover. In the story, the fox is bullied by the wolf into hunting and gathering food for him (because though the wolf is strong, he's not adept at hunting or thievery). The fox eventually lures the wolf into a trap, but not before the fox endures several months of suffering.
The story would have been better (IMHO) if the fox had sought to outsmart or otherwise destroy the wolf from the beginning, but (alas!) our foxy isn't mean-spirited. :3
On a side note, I wonder where the fox got that bandana from, as well who tied it for him. :o
I drew this card using my Zephyr. I delineated it via this drawing pencil by Viarco. My Viarco is the 250 'Desenho' model. It produces a dark, thin line and has a smooth drag. Its lines don't erase well, but that's true for most soft pencils. The Viarco is the only pencil I have that was made in Portugal (as of writing).
