It's new years eve on "the farm" (a cult compound near the equator for the so called "fat earthers"), and Petroshka's first new years eve living on the farm.
To the left is "Hogu" the Rabbit, a character created by my daughter Yuki (and drawn here by her as well), Petroshka's youngster companion that hangs out with him and one of the few that isn't bothered by Petroshka's near constant irratibility. Middle left we have Petroshka himself. To his immediate right we have this continuities version of Rudolph, often referred to as simply "Rudy" or "Red", and lastly to the far right we have Krampus the Warlock, leader of the cult.
Rudy is the free spirit of christmas itself. As such he can't help but be in a constant state of good cheer and merriment, the polar opposite of Petroshka, a cynic and perpetual malcontent.
Here is the dialog in case it is hard to read:
Rudy: Happy New Years Peter!
Petroshka: New Year's ain't fer another 5 and a half hours, shet fer brains! Now get off 'er me you overgrown christmas fruitcake!
Krampus: hmmm ... fruitcake ... erm ... that thar minds me ... where'd Earl hide that dern whip cream, dern fool worryin' bout my lackytoast intolerance ... gits me nerves ... now wheres me dern whipped cream?
In the background Krampus can be seen summoning "Cottage Cheese", "Butter Cream", "Cream Cheese", "whipped butter", and "yogurt", all in an attempt to correctly summon "Whipped Cream"

adding the floating items in the background was my daughters idea. She also came up with the pose, drawing the left hand casting the summoning spell. So I guess this one was a bit of a joint effort.
