Yeah, anyone remember that? We were only supposed to have a lockdown for the last two weeks of March in order to prevent hospitals from being overrun with cases due to sudden and rapid spread of the then-novel virus.
And how many total infections were we supposed to prevent by doing this? If you answered anything other than "zero", you're not remembering correctly. The idea was that all the same people were going to eventually catch it, but if we social distanced, wore masks, and a lot of us took two weeks off from work then it wouldn't spread to everyone as fast and hospitals would find it manageable.
Instead hospitals had to lay off nurses due to lack of work for them to do. And on April 1st, APRIL FOOLS it's actually a totalitarian power grab for the upper class to exert power over us! Isn't it just grand not being allowed to decide for yourself how much risk to take with your life and have local restaurant businesses die while global fast food corporations thrive on delivery orders and drive thrus?
