Demordicai Diamonds Character Art

Another bit of Demordicai Diamonds character concept I've been meaning to color for a month and a half. I've drawn Tubbs once before a few years ago so this isn't an entirely new character.

Tubbs is one of the handful of town guards in Aspen Village and often plays the roll of second-in-command next to Captain Monty. His real name is Tubarus but everyone took to calling him "Tubby" when he had a noticeably fat beer gut. He's since worked that off but the name stuck in a way turned into "Tubbs". He is not a native of Aspen Village but his family comes from a tiny hamlet (populated mostly by relatives) a full day's travel on foot away from Aspen Village. Tubbs's family made much of their living off of farming with a heavy emphasis on livestock which is reflected in Tubbs by his knowledge on the subject. Though he left the life of a farmer for the job of a town guard at a young age, he still knows plenty about livestock rearing and can tend to them well should he ever have any of his own.

Tubbs is one of the more adventurous town guards. He originally thought that being a town guard would be much more exciting than a farmer but once he got the job he found out that it's quite boring and if it isn't boring, it can be very dangerous.

Soon after becoming a town guard, he managed to meet a long-lost childhood friend of his who used to live close by but whose family moved closer to Aspen Village and dropped contact with Tubbs's family. This friend of his, a sweet and shy vixen named Rebecca, had taken up the herbalist profession and was selling various herbs and herbal-based remedies and opened up a small merchant stall in Aspen Village. As time goes by, the bond between the two of them grew and eventually the two are classified by the village gossip mongers as a couple.

Tubbs is the perfect kind of guy if you are in need of a loyal companion, especially if you are seeking adventure on the road (though his duties as a town guard now tend to come first). Out of the town guards, Tubbs has one of the best moral compasses and tends to be a "Good Guy Greg" most of the time. That doesn't mean he isn't past playing a prank or two or getting into some mischief but with him it is usually more good-hearted fun. Tubbs is very responsible and makes good at keeping his promises. Well, responsible with everything except drinking. He is a bit of a drinker, and can become a bit of a very social party animal when drunk and can liven up a party quick. When sober, he is still very social and talkative and knows most everyone in Aspen Village well.

Like all of the Aspen Village characters, they probably won't be in the Demordicai Diamonds webcomic until about the end of the first story-arc around Chapter 8 or so.
