This is my Halloween night Inktober 2020 drawing.

How eerie would this feel to you if you were driving along a lonely New Mexico highway at 2:25 am on the night of a full moon, and drove past this apparition on the side of the road trying to hitch a ride?

This ferret driving his dad's 1960 Chevy wasn't about to stop.

This song was playing on the car radio turned down low at this time;

Death angel?  Hitchhiker?  Is this based on this story, though it's from the 1940's, not the 1960's, though, near the end of it, the guy is in New Mexico, just like here  http://perrylocal.org/mostova/files/2011/09/hitchhiker...

I wasn't aware of that story. But it sounds like it could be a same case scenario.

BTW...Thank you for the fave.

I've read about these.

I figure little does he know that he'll encounter the death angel again and again.  He's liable to appear in the back seat of the car without the driver even stopping.

That would be scary.

True, especially the moment the ferret looked in the rear view mirror and saw that death angel.  He'd probably get scared and end up crashing the car.

Or stop the car and dash out only to be chased on foot.

The ferret did mash the accelerator petal to the floor once he past the death angel.

Oddly enough, I wasn't yet aware of that story when I drew it.

I thank you for the link, and that would be a good sound track...However, this takes place in the year 1960 which was before that song existed.

I also appreciate the fave by the way.

Reminds me of a stretch of US-24 in my home state (Colorado).

Highway 93 between Missoula and Polson, Montana has some stretches like that to...Highway 380 in Texas is like that in some places too.

Also CO-71 between Fort Morgan and Limon, Colorado, US-83 in western Kansas, US-40 in Utah, and around 80% of the roads in Wyoming.

I was thinking about Wyoming,  though I didn't list it due to there are the awesome huge rock formations that make the roadside look different.

I’ve seen more roads like this in the Midwest and Southwest. I’ve been a Colorado resident for six years now, before that, I’ve spent the first 19 years of my life living in New York, and there isn’t much open road with nothing there.
