Ancient Egyptian mythology was the original furry fandom.

It would be funny to make a comic about the ancient Egyptian gods living in an apartment, dealing with modern life, and resenting the lack of worshippers. Probably someone else already has done it.

Oh, please do it yourself. I'd read it.

Fuck if there might already be one.

It's been done already.
But I'm still planning to make an Ancient Egypt themed comic, just not with these guys.

Hell, even OG Thundercats did this shtick with Maftet, the lynx god. Briefly, for one episode.

And yes, the Orisian pantheon is all furry dress-up, but mostly just headgear.

Except for Medjed. I sense that when they got to him, they had run fresh out of the furry headpieces and just grabbed a tablecloth, cut some eyeholes in it and told him to wing it.

Egyptian mythology is full of complex symbols and images that are hard to understand by modern minds. If you think Medjed is weird, check out Tekenu.

Oh! Medjed is not difficult to undertand! His epithet is "The Smiter" and he cannot be seen. Well, how do you portray a person whose appearance is invisible? Just draw a bedsheet ghost with legs sticking out to portray motive presence without description, with blatant eyes visible to indicate his Executioner Laser Vision powers. Easy peasey.

And you are right! The imagery coding for Pharaonic art is unexpectedly tremendous! To those people, their art was not just decor or the recordings of their history or doings, that art had downright magical properties with near-total investment in the afterlife, with even the least deviation or mistake spelling disaster.

Even if it exists already, I'd love to see your take on it XD

It's been done already, but I'm working on something else that also involves Egyptian mythology.

The graphic novel series "Sheba" by Walter S. Crane IV came pretty close to this concept, with lots of tongue-in-cheek humor.  Various Gods had to deal with retirement when new religions came along and the old Gods were no longer popular.  Anubis didn't exactly take retirement very well and spent a lot of time getting drunk and feeling sorry for himself.  It's worth a read if you can find it.  8)

Well, maybe yours will be better. Originality is hard to come by but ideas are a dime ah dozen. But even the most hardened original ideas are based on what's familiar.

So do it, because even if it's been done before I can almost gaurentee your version has never been done. :) :)

And awesome work as always. :) :)

Nothing is new, but I try at least not to do something had has been done a lot.

Makes sense as ah policy but I'm sure at this point.

I'm not sure it's a matter of something being done a lot but rather done with trite and borish cliches. I don't see that with any of the stuff you do. :) :)
