For realsies, when I was a kid, I had waking day-terrors.
I always called my sighting "The Shadow Man". Apparently it's quite common to see "Shadow People", just Google that stuff.
While I saw him only 3 times, I "FELT" it near me many many more. Thankfully I outgrew it, or it moved on.
I strongly believe in some forms of the paranormal, but not all.
Poem for the page below:

"This house is asleep
Your family is in bed
But behind you will creep
A presence of dread
You freeze in cold fear
And hide from it's stare
The Shadow Man is here
To give Amy a scare."

It is said that as children we haven't been taught what isn't socially acceptable to see or not see. As an adult, our minds learn to block out things we believe are not supposed to be seen. It's like learning to be blind.

As a child I thoroughly believe I had the Sight. I would often mention something I had seen & was taught that it was "make believe" or "not real." Over time I learned to not see them anymore. Really kind of sad. I was never afraid of the supernatural or unknown until I grew up & was told I was supposed to be.

I have a high degree of natural empathy. I was pretty quiet and intelligent as a kid, though also kind of a loner. A lot of kids thought I was weird. But I was a nice guy.
I think I saw this thing so easily was due to my being highly introspective and empathetic; I would probably notice things others would be too "noisy" and self absorbed to see. If people like me have a crude form of psychic sensitivity, perhaps, like how our physical eyes developed in the animal kingdom over eons, our own "eye" will evolve. Truth be told, being crippled with paralyzing fear and that sense of icky "somebody is HERE" all the time was not fun; I would happily live without that.

I really like your day 21! I believe in ghost and spirits. I have had experience with them.
It is dark in the whole apartment atm. Only a little glow from under the door from the hallway. As I was reading you words and looking at your submission I assume someone was walking in the hallway because a light shadow moved from one side of the room to the other.  Scared the bajeebers out of me.
Nice job autumnbear!

When I was a kid, I had a dream that a C-123 military cargo plane (like the one in the movie, Con Air) exploded into pieces as it flew over the house at night. I remember in the dream seeing one of its engines still running at high RPM as it power dived in bright flames against the night sky with a torn section of wing still attached to it. The sight of that falling engine looked so surreal and eerie.

Another dream I had as a kid was two men with daggers chasing me around in a parking lot at night. The men in the dream would somewhat remind you of the villain in the cartoon, Rescuers From Down Under, but with more of a Navajo appearance, and with long black hair.
