*Yes, I stole this from The Plotters ...who themselves likely stole it from Paul Simon
Anyway, what was meant is I'm gonna be drawing some seasonal characters. To begin, let's have a look at Count Catula (who looks more like a dog than a cat) from *Hanna-Barbera's **'Monster Tails' series.
*I was surprised to learn this was produced by HB; I was pretty sure it was Ruby-Spears (but there ya go)! ^^
**It's a pun; most of the cast is animal-based
Count Catula is Dracula's pet. In fact, most of the cast are pets of the monsters they're based on. Their guardian is Igor Jr (who looks a lot like Carl from 'Jimmy Neutron', IMHO). They all live in a castle and ...do stuff. ^^
Like another benign, animated vampire *coughDuckulacough*, Count Catula drinks tomato juice---he's not a threat to one's life, albeit his too-cool-for-this-world attitude is grating to endure.
So far as I know, 'Monster Tails' wasn't a stand-alone series, but was instead a segment of another series: 'Wake Rattle and Roll' ...which was renamed by Disney to 'Jump Rattle and Roll' ...and neither should be confsed with the other 'Shake Rattle and Roll', which was part of the 'CB Bears' series (and, yes, 'CB Bears' is on my draw list).
That's a lot of shaking, rattling, jumping and rolling---we need music to go with!
As I said, I plan to draw *more 'spooky' characters to lead up to Halloween, but ...There's a problem.
Most applicants I'd want to draw are either human (such as witches, vampires, etc), or human-shape (such as Frankenstein's fiend) ...and two of the three sites I upload to are furry-focused. ^^
*not to the exclusion of all else, such as Gene and Tasli, etc. :3
I suppose my concern is how much 'human' is too much? Thoughts (comment below)?
OH! The pencil!
I drew this with a L&C Hardtmuth 'Koh-I-Thin' pencil. I chose this one because its model number is 666 ...and the cartoon subject is Halloween themed (I'm not funny, I know).
Anyway, the Koh-I-Thin is a hard pencil, much like the Zephyr I typically use. Because if this, I had to go over the Koh-I-Thin's lines with a softer/darker pencil (just an unremarkable Eberhard I had on my desk). My Koh-I-Thin was broken in two, and is being held together with glue (and, no, I didn't break it---I dunno what happened). :P
