Super Dave: Daredevil for Hire
The Mouse (The BFG)
I grew up with 'The Simpsons', and I've grown out and away from them. I'm unsure when the last time was I saw an episode on TV---it was likely just after the beginning of the 2000's (and I recall nothing about it).

As for the movie, I saw it after buying a DVD copy at a local thrift shop ...I didn't care much for it. :P

Blinky the Three-eyed Fish is from the era in which I enjoyed 'The Simpsons'.

Blinky was also the ideal subject for which to feature this 'uranium pencil' ...not only because it's radioactive, but because it's pink (like Homer's ruined shirt). ^^

Now, I neither drew nor delineated this drawing with the uranium pencil. Reason is this pencil is too valuable to sharpen (and I just sold it on eBay, so...) ^^

Anyway, the uranium pencil has a story attached,

"In 1957, the Kingston Pencil Company received a license from the Atomic Energy Commission that authorized them to possess up to 24 tons of uranium ore. Nevertheless, it seems that their one and only purchase was for 2,400 pounds of ore from the Daybuck Company of Spokane Washington .  The ore was ground up in a rock crusher that belonged to a farmer in Rossville Georgia, and a green dye was then added to the ore to give it a “romantic” appearance.
Each pencil contained 1.5 to 2.5 grams of 1.7 % ore (ca. 0.02 uCi).  A  memorandum from the Atomic Energy Commission in 1960 estimated that if the entire sample were ingested, the incorporated uranium would only amount to 1/25,000 of the permissible body burden. Nevertheless, that same year the New York Times reported that the Erie County ( New York ) Health Department had ordered the confiscation of similar pencils advertising the Chicken Delight restaurants. The county Health Commissioner claimed that the ore was toxic and “posed a significant hazard if ingested by a child.”  The pencils read “Chicken Delight conduction method has done for the food business what uranium ore has done for AEC.”"

My uranium pencil featured here is from 'Tom's Service Station', which itself is advertising 'Esso Gasoline'.

Anyway ...Blinky. :3

Oh jeez, yeah I remember this character lol. I've honestly grown out of adult cartoons like that. Very rarely do I watch them now. Mostly all I watch now as far as cartoons go, is children's cartoons lol. Anyways nice job man

"I've honestly grown out of adult cartoons like that"

I like how you phrased this. Some feel if you've old and gray, the only animation one should watch is that which is 'adult' and 'offensive' in some way. Personally, I find that mindset as immature as the humor many 'adult' cartoons are replete with.

Yeah I can agree to that.

I mean I used to watch cartoons like The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, etc all the time when I was a teenager. But now a days, the only time I ever watch those cartoons is when I'm hanging out with my brother in his room. But that's about it. I have no interest in those shows anymore. If I watch cartoons, kid's cartoons have my attention a lot more now lol

I was watching Under the Umbrella Tree the other day, as a rare episode had been uploaded. I thought to myself, 'I'm almost 40' ...but, then, I thought, yes ...and it's necessary even at an age such as mine, to remember that friendship, kindness, and love for one another is more enduring, wholesome, and practical than dirty jokes, murder and hate ..and, honestly, many adults today would benefit from lessons learned through childrens' media.

Oh man, I'll be 40 still watching the cartoons I watch now. No matter my age, and how busy and wealthy I get. It's part of what makes me who I am lol.

And honestly, I couldn't have said that any better myself. Because you got a very serious point I think. Honestly, some adults pretty would benefit from it actually lol. Again that's such a strong point
