Food Lion is somewhat nostalgic for me, as I used to live right behind one (for the better part of a decade), and would go in most every day for something or other. Having the store only a few hundred feet or so from my back door was almost like a mega extension to my pantry (and I sorely miss it)! ^^
Anyway, I happened to visit a Food Lion not too long ago. In the cereal section, I thought to look to see if Food Lion still sold Malt-O-Meal products. They did!
Now, Malt-O-Meal is interesting in that they package their dry cereal in bags rather than in boxes. I was never a big fan of their products, as most are just generic versions of national brands, but I did recall *one of Malt-O-Meal's mascots: Cool Blue the Kangaroo.
Not that I looked too hard, but I didn't see Cool Blue on *any of the bags, which was disappointing (and may or may not have influenced my decision not to buy any cereal). ^^
*Cool Blue was found on the bags of Puffed Rice (not Cocoa Roos as you might think). Alas, Puffed Rice is no longer made (so I guess Blue went away with it).
Regardless, I thought to go ahead and knock Cool Blue from my draw list, as **he has been on it for a few years now. Besides, if Cool Blue has truly gone away, he will be in need of remembering (hence my decision to draw them today).
**Despite the pouch, Cool Blue is male. Blue's a big brother, in fact.
Big brother?
Yeah, I should mention Cool Blue had a little brother named Li'l Oaty.
Li'l Oaty was a yellow joey who tagged along in Blue's pouch.
I opted not to include L'il Oaty on this card, but may draw them in the future.
