The Blooming Flower Club
Ch36- Guitar Lessons
Vicky headed home, after hanging with the rest of the BFC. she was walking with Daisy, her palm in the back pocket of her pants as they came to the fox's apartment, saying goodbye to Daisy, kissing the bunny girl as Daisy admitted she was looking forward to the meeting. The fox headed in the apartment where Todd was sitting watching TV, working on a model car.
"How were your BFC activities?" Todd asked gluing two pieces of the car together as Vicky told him about the Gloryhole at the town's 24/7 as Todd was pleased to hear about that, saying he should check it out sometime as Vicky headed upstairs. she was happy that her dad decided to sign her up for guitar lessons, picking up the guitar she bought at a local pawn shop.
Her instrument was a mess. it was a heavy worn down red flying V, with an upside-down neck, the knobs and pick-ups looked like they all came from different instruments, the left end was wrapped entirely in duct tape, and to top it off the face was covered with scratches and stickers. she bought it for 39 Credits, which was less than what she made in an hour and looked like something pulled from a Dumpster.
"At least it sounded better than it looked," Vicky thought, sitting on her bed as she strummed her paw down before turning one of the knobs. Vicky recently discovered she was blessed with the gift of Perfect Pitch as she tuned the guitar as it was finely tuned. Eventually, Micheal got home to drive Vicky to her lessons.
The lessons were at a local instrument store. Vicky admired all the shiny instruments which looked like they came off the assembly as a big red sign was posted on the wall, telling her to get an associate to take down one of the guitars and some having stickers that said not to play.
Micheal worked at the back of the store with Vicky, saying he would get a bite to eat and pick her up at the end of her class as he hugged his daughter, watching her enter the room. It was a small studio room with an older female fox, in her early twenties. wearing tattered denim jeans, a black vest, and blue spiky hair, tuning her guitar, a neon blue Les Paul as she looked up.
"So, you're Vicky, Names Lexi Sparx," the older vixen said, extending her paw out as Vicky shook it. The two introduced themselves. Lexi was the guitarist of a local band and began teaching guitar on the side. after formalities were out of the way Lexi asked Vicky what she knew about Guitar as the child shrugged her shoulders.
"Not much, my Dad says I have something called 'Perfect Pitch' but that's about it" Vicky hesitated to say as Lexi nodded, saying that with that Vicky could know if her guitar was in tune and figure notes out more easily. Lexi asked her to plug in her guitar and strum as the young fox did so. Lexi nodded her head, hearing the Guitar in a perfect tone.
"Okay, I guess Basic notes would be the best place to start" Lexi suggested as the two spent the next hour going over the basic notes which Vicky picked up on pretty easy, playing the notes at a beginner level.
"So, Miss Sparx, what's the name of your band, are you famous?" Vicky asked seeing a potential role model in the older fox as she chuckled, saying they were local, people in town knew them and they put their music online, but they weren't anywhere near famous.
"Being a musician isn't about being famous, it's about making music for those who like it. if you're good, fans will come to you" she replied, plucking a few strings as she slid her fingers down the fretboard, dazzling Vicky with the fast notes she played.
"And, call me Lexi, Miss Sparx makes me sound like an old crone" she replied as Vicky tried to play the same notes Lexi did as it came out all sloppy as Lexi chuckled, saying it took practice to get good. as she reached over to her desk, seeing their time was mostly up.
"Here kid, if you like my playing this should put a smile on your face," Lexi said handed her a couple CDs. The first a mixtape of Rock song hits, the second from a band called 'Wolfpack M.C.' showing a bunch of wolf's dressed in biker attire, the Third titled 'Laser Panther' showing a panther about Vicky's age with a Guitar, the last was a case with a blank CD, having Lexi'sband name written in marker as Vicky held it, asking if she could really have it as Lexi smiled, saying all she had to do was promise to practice as Vicky nodded, unplugging and leaving when her time was up.
"Well, I'll See you next week Vicky, It was nice meeting you," Lexi said as Vicky smiled leaving the room heading out to meet up with her dad, who asked how her lesson went as Vicky went on about the teacher Lexi Sparx, about how amazing and cool she was as Micheal smiled, glad to see Vicky so happy, asking what she learned as pointed at her guitar strings, listing the name and location of the notes, plucking the string and placing her fingers on the fretboard.
"Well, you seem interested in these lessons so I guess we'll go through with it if you promise you won't back out later," Micheal said as Vicky defended that she wasn't gonna stop practicing as Michel smiled, as they headed in his truck. Vicky sat in the passenger seat, with her guitar on the backseat.
"How about we stop and pick up Todd and go out for dinner tonight, a little celebration for your lessons as Vicky smiled, holding the CD case that Lexi gave her, asking if she could put in on as Michel saw no reason why letting his daughter slide the CD as the crunchy rock sounds were heard as the truck.
"Hey Daddy, if we're going out to eat, Can I call Daisy and cancel some plans I had made as she followed him into the apartment, carrying her guitar, saying she was gonna put in in her room real quick as she rushed to the house phone, pushing the buttons to the Fields households as the phone rang.
"Evening Micheal, how are you doing," the voice of Rosa said from the other side as Vicky cleared her throat, It's just me Miss Fields, is Daisy there?" Vicky asked as she could hear Rosa walking around and knocking on a wooden material.
"I'm Busy Mom," Daisy said, a bit inconvenienced by Rosa knocking as Vicky heard the conversation between the two, resulting in Daisy asking if she could just slide the phone through the crack in the door.
"And please don't Look," Daisy said as the phone changed hands. Daisy asked Vicky how things were going, apologizing for her being so secretive as Vicky smirked, knowing the feeling.
"I just came to tell you I'll be going out for dinner with Dad and Todd, so we might not make it to the Hole tonight, I'll try to make it but no promises," Vicky said as Daisy was noticeably disappointed but seemed to understand.
"What if you finish early, could you still meet up with us," Daisy asked as Vicky said it depended on where they were eating. if they were close by she might sneak off and tell them she was gonna walk home for exercise and would try to make it as Micheal was calling for her.
"Look, That's my Dad. I have to go now" Vicky said, hanging up as the trio of foxes left the apartment, heading to the truck as Michel asked Vicky and Todd what they were hungry for as the kids were whispering in the back.
"Could you say Pandanese? The club is having a meeting and I could leave with Sakura. Vicky whispered as Todd had her back. The twin said they both were craving Pandanese noodles and Micheal agreed with that as they stopped by Panda Wok, the food was surprisingly cheap as they entered the store and sat down at a table.
"Vicky, Todd, I thought I recognized you two," Sakura said walking toward them carrying a broom as Vicky smiled, looking at her dad, introducing her to Sakura Kuno, she was one of her classmates and friends from school as Sakura bowed formally, saying it was nice to meet him as Micheal blushed a bit.
"Sakura, get to your chores or you can't go out tonight," an older male panda said as Sakura scurried off to finish her chores as he took their orders. each of them ordered the vegetable Lo Mien as their food was brought out with a pot of tea as each of them poured a cup.
"To Vicky's Guitar classes," Micheal said, wanting to toast as the young girl was emptying a sugar packet into her teacup before toasting. The meal was good as Vicky picked up the noodles with her chopsticks, sliding them into her mouth as Todd and Micheal did the same. Eventually, Sakura came back out, saying she finished her chores and getting permission to leave.
"Vicky, would you like to accompany me," Sakura asked as Vicky looked at her dad, asking if so could go out with Sakura as he smiled, saying she just had to be safe and be home before her bedtime as Vicky nodded, leaving with Sakura.
