The Picnic
To celebrate the Fourth of July, Rosa and Daisy decided to invite the Robinsons to picnic in the park, packing soda bottles of soda in her picnic basket as Daisy walked around the kitchen in her overalls and a light green shirt, her thumbs mashing the buttons of her handheld as the sounds of video game were heard.
"Leave it" Rosa ordered, wearing a red sundress, telling Daisy not to bring her her handheld to the picnic as she pouted, saying she was only gonna play it on the walk over there as Lily was sitting in the living room, watching TV.
"Daisy, listen to your mother," her aunt said as she sighed flicking it off, sliding it into her pocket as she helped Rosa pack up the bag, asking if she could have a soda as Told her no snacks until the picnic as Daisy pouted asking if she could bring something for her and the Robinson kids to play with as Rosa nodded, Daisy went upstairs to her room as Rosa looked at Lily, asking if she wanted to come as Lily shrugged, saying she did not want to interrupt her date with Micheal as Rosa nearly dropped the soda can she was packing.
"What, I'm not... that..." Rosa fumbled her words as Lily smirked saying it was good for her. ever since Jack's death Rosa hasn't really talked to anyone besides Daisy. It was nice to see Rosa putting herself back out there.
"I mean your only 24, you're still young and you deserve to put yourself back out there, Jack would want you to be happy and stop mourning him" Lily replied as Rosa sighed, asking if it was really that obvious as Lily smirked, saying Rosa was always the romantic one among the three of them.
In Daisy's Bedroom, she was looking for something she and the twins could play as decided to log into her account. She logged in as Flowerpower8 to her gaming channel to see her videos have been becoming more popular, typing that due to the holiday there would be no stream before exiting out of the computer and walking to her shelf. she picked up a role-playing board game called Dungeon Crawler which was simple to play as she looked at it, wondering if she should stream board games before shaking her head.
Daisy picked up the board game and headed downstairs to wait for her mother as the left the house heading to the apartment where the Robinson's stayed. Rosa knocked on the door as Micheal Robinson opened it, wearing a T-shirt and cargo pants as he looked at the bunnies smiling.
"Rosa, and Daisy, and good to see. I was just finishing packing. Kids, are you ready to go yet, the Fields' family is here" he called across the hall to the kid's bedroom.
"We're getting ready Daddy" Vicky said as they left. both wearing jeans and a collared shirt, Vicky in Pink and Todd in light blue. Vicky went in to hug Daisy as Michel grabbed his basket, agreeing to walk to the park as they left the complex, heading down the sidewalk.
"I was surprised you wanted to invite me to a picnic, no one has ever really done that sort of thing for me" Micheal admitted as Todd smiling, saying it would be nice to get out of the bedroom as Vicky nodded, hoping the walk wasn't too far, she was a bit sore from her activities the previous night.
"So Daisy, what did you pack?" Vicky asked as the young bunny held out the board game, saying it was easy to play as Vicky made a wager that she could win as Daisy laughed saying she played this game all the time back home as Daisy asked if they could play on the playground for a while as they nodded, signaling the trio to run as Daisy called dibs on the swing sitting down as Vicky sat down beside her, saying the swingset was the best part of the park as Todd pushed the girls forward, his paws gently pressed on their buttocks as he pushed them forward as Vicky smiled.
"Thanks, bro" Vicky smiled as he smiled as Daisy smirked, asking if he just wanted to touch their bums as he smirked, saying that was an added bonus, he kept pushing the girls on the swing as the two adults were setting up the picnic spot.
"It looks like the kids are getting along," Micheal said as Rosa nodded, stating the Todd seemed like the little gentlemen as Micheal nodded, telling him he was always helping Vicky around the house and knew the two kids had a strong bond with each other.
"I guess being twins without a mother does that," Micheal asked as Rosa nodded, realizing Micheal hasn't mentioned anything about his ex-wife, asking if it was okay to poke the subject. Micheal simply admitted that they divorced when the twins were babies, and he was burdened with raising them on his own.
"I would not know that, Daisy just lost her father a few months ago, and she was really depressed after that back in Terrabella, but then after moving her it's like she's back to her old self, smiling and having fun, making friends again" Rosa admitted as Micheal agreed.
"She seems like a little angel, maybe I could babysit her for you sometime, the twins would like that" Micheal said as they continued unpacking the picnic as they called the kids over. Vicky and Daisy jumped off the swings in midair, landing on their feet as the trio rushed over, admiring the food their parents had laid out. the group began eating as Michel bit into his food.
"Wow Rosa, this potato salad is excellent" Michel complemented as the twins agreed, Vicky saying it was the best potato salad she ever had.
"It's the only potato salad we've ever had" Todd corrected as Rosa blushed, saying it was a Kott family recipe she learned from her grandmother, biting into one of Michael's Deviled eggs, saying they tasted amazing as he smiled.
"The tip is to use spicy mustard, give it that extra kick" Micheal replied as the five of them enjoyed their meal together. Vicky tore open a bag of chips, thanking Miss Fields for inviting them to this picnic because this made their day as Michel looked at her.
"You know Rosa, every year some townspeople launch fireworks at night, you can get a great view from here, would you and Daisy be interested in watching the fireworks with us," Micheal asked as the kids started cheering as Rosa realized he just said a magic word.
"Please Mommy" Daisy begged as the twins joined in asking Miss Fields to let Daisy watch the fireworks with them as she agreed as they spent the whole day at the park together. the kids were on the playground as Rosa looked around as Michel smiled, saying the kids had a lot of energy.
"And you have two of them, that must be a handful," Rosa said as Michel smirked, saying he managed. He told them Vicky and Todd were great kids, always doing odd jobs around to help out, he was really proud of his children.
The sun started setting as the five stood up in the park, waiting for the fireworks to start as Todd cracked open a can of cola, handing it to Vicky as Michel looked at them, saying they've been drinking soda all day.
"You two better brush your teeth when you get home" Micheal called out as Rosa said the same to Daisy. The first firework shot up exploding into the sky as the children cheered. followed by several more in various colors, shapes, and sizes, lighting up the sky as the kids were entirely focused on the night sky.
Such a display was amazing, the sky was filled in a mass of colors and the only sound heard was the popping and cracking of the fireworks over the night sky. it was the most amazing sight that Rosa had ever seen and shook her to her core.
"That looks so amazing, the fireworks for Terrabella don't even hold a candle," Rosa said impressed as Micheal grinned at her asking if she meant a 'roman candle' as she giggled. all that and he was a comedian as all the pent up emotion in Rosa was breaking loose. Before she knew what happened she suddenly kissed the fox under the exploding sky.
Micheal's eyes were wide from the shock of Rosa kissing her as part of him wanted to push her off but he did not want to cause a scene and part of him enjoyed being intimate again.
Whether it was the fireworks, the atmosphere, or the fact of it being a holiday but something overcame the two adults as their lips were locked, Micheal wrapping arms around the brown-furred Rosa and the two kissed. The kids were two focused on the fireworks to notice their parents behind them.
