Hi to all. This is a drawing that I had been planning to do for some time...and only now I had the opportunity to complete it.
I was inspirided by this draw https://inkbunny.net/s/1160678 by

...among other things, that drawing was commissioned by him from
marmelmm
marmelmm
(whom I warmly thank for giving me permission to use his characters).
So I decided to recreate a drawing that saw my character (driving a Ferrari "Lancia" D50), compete with his pilot (who drives a Mercedes Benz W196R Streamliner) on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.

I didn't want to insist too much on the background not to risk ruining it. I hope you enjoy the end result. Stay Tuned, I've another work on the way ;)

The Mercedes looks similar to the one that crashed into the grandstand during the 1955 LeMans race.

They're similar...but not the same. In the draw there's the model from 1954. The model you mentioned was the 300SLR of 1955 ;)

Yep...The 300SLRs had magnesium bodies for ultra light weight.

Yes. And about the D50: only 8 specimens were produced, from 1954 to 1956. Built by Lancia and designed by Vittorio Jano (designer of Ferrari at that time). It won 2 F1 titles and in 1955 was buy from Enzo Ferrari...and the name changes from Lancia D50 to Ferrari D50, and won another championship in 1956 driven by Manuel Fangio ;)
