Character Description
Elle Sanders is the eldest child of the Sanders household, and a smart little girl.  Perhaps too smart... nobody complained when she started reading at two, but her mother started to worry after Elle concluded that she and the world around her were fictional.

She doesn't talk much about that anymore, but realizing that she's a cartoon has given Elle foresight well beyond the typical resident of Woodland.  She can sniff out a cliche from a mile away, and will either keep it at that distance or confront it directly in defense of her often oblivious family.

Elle can be identified by a white blouse adorned with a red ribbon, and a pleated blue skirt.  She also wears a monocle to correct the vision in one eye.  It's an odd fashion statement for a girl and especially a preschooler, but she's much happier with it than the Coke bottle glasses she wore when she was in diapers.

Oh yes, about that!  She may be bright, but Elle has yet to master the toilet.  She keeps working at it, however, and has graduated to training pants after a month of diligent effort.  Elle's not leak-proof, but one or two little accidents are better than her little brother's six car pile-ups.
Personality
Elle is an extremely driven and focused individual.  When she sees something she wants, she'll stop at nothing to get it, regardless of the collateral damage.  This can make her seem selfish and callous to an outsider, but she is capable of generosity and compassion under the right circumstances.  Just not when she's got her eyes on the prize.
Likes/Dislikes
Elle's fond of individually wrapped ice cream treats, especially ice pops and orange sherbet tubes.  She also likes to stay on the cutting edge of technology, often wrestling with her mother over the latest gadgets.  Elle is obsessed with plush toys and dolls, treating them as her own babies (although preferably while nobody is looking).

Elle hates diapers.  Actually, she likes them on other kids, because it gives her a smug sense of superiority, but she wouldn't put one of those nasty things on her own butt.  She also hates it when you tell her that training pants are basically the same thing, or that she was wearing diapers herself just a couple of months ago.  Don't even go there... it won't end well!

Finally, Elle doesn't have much patience for demagogues who exploit others for fun and profit.  She sees right through it and will make every effort to ensure that it stops, even if the offender is thoroughly humiliated in the process.
Background/History
Elle was born in 1993 as L. Gradia Sanders, an awkward name meant to pay tribute to one of my favorite video games.  Back then, she was designed as a female counterpart to my flagship character Byron, without much to distinguish them aside from two X chromosomes and a silly looking outfit.  Five years later, I gave Elle a tune-up, giving her a more palatable name and changing her plaid jumper into a Japanese schoolgirl's uniform.  Elle's personality also matured, becoming more distinctly feminine and less childish than Byron.
Relatives/Family
Ada Wentworth-Sanders: Mother
Byron J. Lennox: Brother (adopted)
Milton Sanders: Father (missing)
Glen Glenn Sanders: Uncle
Lynn Carson: Sitter, close family friend
Sarah Esprit: Sitter, more close to Byron than Elle
World/Setting
Woodland, circa 2781 (781 Hybrid Date)

Woodland is a planet of exile for hybrids, genetically engineered animals created and subsequently exploited by humans.  This world is a heavily forested Pangaea with no known sapient species, making it an ideal home for the fleeing hybrid population.
Body
Elle's fur is reddish-brown, and the exposed skin on her nose and paw pads is dark grey.  The fur on her muzzle and inside her ears is a bright cream, bordering on yellow.  She has deep blue eyes, a contrast to her mother's which are more pale.  Elle has no distinguishing markings, although she did at one point have a small crescent of dark fur under her right eye.
Clothing
Elle is usually seen in a white blouse adorned with a red ribbon, and a pleated blue skirt similar to those worn by the Japanese cartoon character Sailor Moon.  She is always seen with a monocle that corrects the vision in her right eye, and often wears black Mary Jane shoes and long white socks.  Elle has a thick plume of hair, which she combs back, and a red ribbon near her left ear.
Accessories
It's not unusual to see Elle either using an electronic device or playing with a doll.  Like most little brothers, Byron can also be an unintentional accessory, trailing her every step despite her best efforts.
