Just something I believe in, that I do my utmost to practice. Whatever people can say about our institutions, systems, our societies, they are always comprised of people. Because of this, they will only ever be as good as the qualities of the individuals that comprise them. The clearest illustrations of honour and integrity manifest themselves in consistent principles. When people act as they repudiate others for acting, when they manipulate language to excuse it, they dishonour themselves, destroy their integrity and therefore their dignity along with it. It does not matter what the hell anyone else does, how corrupt anyone else is, you are what matters. If you want a heart that isn't filled with self-hatred, consider your own conscience. After all, it's the one you have to live with.
