As far as I'm concerned, the right age for marriage is age 30 or older. The age range where you finally start figuring out who you are. I know there are exceptions, but in general, most of us find our real selves around that age. My parents got married young and it ended only 10 years later. Well, as much as I hate to admit it, you're probably right. It wasn't uncommon for at least one marriage partner to be "significantly" older until the early 20th Century when a series of economic problems caused people to start marrying younger. Those bad times made people realize how much they needed a partner for life. That's one reason why during that time period divorce among the poor and middle class was so low compared to the upper class.
