Caiden's and Kyle's grandparents nicely offered to take the cubs for the weekend, much to Mike's and Cheryl's delight. The parents quickly made some plans for the themselves and then threw the boys and their stuff in the car and drove to grandma's and grandpa's house. Once they arrived, Cheryl walked Caiden and Kyle to the door and made sure they got in while Mike waited in the car with the engine running. As soon as the boy's grandparents answered the door, Cheryl quickly said 'hi and bye' and bolted back to the car leaving the two little monsters with their grandparents. Usually Caiden and/or Kyle would be upset at this, but this was grandma's and grandpa's house! They were about to be spoiled the whole weekend.
Ice Cream for Breakfast? Why Not?!
After greeting their grandparents with lots of hugs and kisses, Kyle made the comment that they were hungry. It wasn't quite lunch yet but they didn't get a big breakfast before leaving the house. When grandpa asked what they wanted to eat, Caiden shouted, "Ice Cweam!". Grandpa eyed them for a moment before giving in, smiling, shrugging, and saying, "Why not?". Grandpa showed them to the kitchen and gave Caiden and Kyle a big 'ole bowl of ice cream with lots and lots of chocolate syrup. Much to the cubs delight. Gotta love grandma's and grandpa'a house!
Old Fashion Fun!
After scarfing down two bowls of ice cream each, Caiden and Kyle needed to run off some energy. They went to their grandmother and asked if there was anything fun they could do. She had just the thing and led them into the living room. Grandma opened her record player and placed her favorite record in there. It started playing and, much to Caiden's and Kyle's surprise, it started playing music! Caiden loved it so much that he started dancing his tail off while Kyle took a more analytical approach and tried to figure out how that giant C.D. was playing music.
Old School Diapering
With having a non-toilet trained toddler around you inevitably have to take care of some dirty pants. That's just what grandma had to do not too long after they finished dancing. Luckily for her and Caiden, grandma has raised many pups and grandpups so she was a diapering master. She took Caiden to his room and began to change him. Towards the back half of the change, Caiden felt something strange around his waist. It didn't feel like one of his normal diapers and when he looked up it turned out that his feelings were true! Grandma raised many a cubs in cloth diapers and felt more comfortable changing and operating those. Plus she always like helping her daughter and son-in-law by not using all of those expensive disposable diapers.
Grandpa's Ramblings
Being at the grandparents house is great most of the time. They let you get away with just about everything and spoil you rotten. The one possible downside is having to listen to all of their old stories. Kyle got trapped in one of those situations while his brother was getting his diaper changed. So boring!
Dogs Playing Poker
Grandpa was feeling a little mischievous and decided to teach his grandpups to play one of his favorite card games, poker. He sat the boys down and they used cookies as their money. They played a couple of free rounds so the pups could understand it and they caught on quickly! Well Kyle did, but not so much Caiden. Caiden seemed to be playing a different game and eating his money. I think he was just happy to be there. Meanwhile, Kyle had figured the game out and was starting to clean his grandfather out!
Baking Cookies with Grandma
What trip to grandma's isn't complete without baking some kind of delicious treat? Later in the evening, grandma decided that it was time to do some baking and that she needed some help. The boys were happy to volunteer! Grandma had them strip to their cloth diaper and underwear so they didn't get their clothes dirty. Together they baked all sorts of cookies and managed to get themselves and most of the kitchen dirty as well.
Rub-a-dub-dub!
After creating quite the mess in the kitchen, it was time for a bath. Grandpa readied the tub for Caiden and Kyle while Grandma cleaned the kitchen. Caiden and Kyle shared the bath and played in the tub for a long time!
Bedtime Story
Shortly after the Smith boys got out of the bath, it was time to get ready for bed. Kyle slipped into a night gown while Grandma pinned a clean cloth diaper and nightshirt on Caiden. After they brushed their teeth, they made their way to their room. Before Grandma put the two pups in their bed she read them a bedtime story. After a hard day of play and fun, neither boy made it very far into the story and were out cold.

Its funny cause I recently made two characters named Kathrine https://inkbunny.net/s/2129485 and her baby daughter Kiara https://inkbunny.net/s/2127771 who in some of my roleplays live in the modern day but dress and live like they were in the 1940s where they have old furniture and things like a phonograph and Kiara has things like old baby toys like a rocking horse, pull ducky and her room is decked out in old furniture like an old fashioned crib, changing table, cradle and the likes.
