featuring the one thing that hasn't been shown up until now. Cres using her magic! (Much like Thadius from before actually.).
I was extremely excited to get this piece done because alongside it I wanted to finally talk about what Cres' magic actually is and how it works, choosing to wait until this got finished before describing it. Before that, want to give a huge thank you to
So...for Cres' magic...how it works and why...she never uses it haha. What it does is upon use, it alters reality to the will of the caster. Allowing it to do anything the caster wants, so long as they have a set idea of what they want to happen. Say they want a concrete door to just open, they can use their magic, or in this case Cres can, and the door would open. Though how it happens isn't explicitly known, it won't do anything that would put Cres or those she's close to in harms way. More or less, it allows just about anything to happen. However there are some strict rules to this that prevent it from being extremely powerful and truthfully, limit Cres to being just support or completely useless in many situations.
The first, and most important rule is that if the user isn't resolute in what they want, or lacks the confidence to trust what they want to happen will happen, the magic will always fail. They have to be 100% confident that it will work when they use it. Any doubts in it's ability to perform, no matter how minor, will cause it to falter and no longer work.
Next, the user naturally, like with any magic, needs to be focused and not emotionally distracted while using it. If they are, then once again it won't work.
And lastly, when using it to directly affect other living creatures, be it killing or removing them from existence, creating a small cut on the arm or even healing them in some way, it will combat with the individuals own willpower and if the users will isn't stronger than the ones being affected, the magic will fail to work. Typically this isn't an issue when healing others, but when used for offense it can quickly prove to be worthless if they catch on.
Sadly, Cres, being timid, passive, and being emotionally fragile, isn't particularly capable of using it well in most cases, requiring others there to be able to do anything of worth. But when focused, Cres can prove to be a very helpful support mage, so long as she stays stable of course.
